Google Deletes Hitler Forum On Orkut

A popular forum whose main theme was discussing Adolf Hitler has been removed by Google's Orkut team. The site swelled to over 3100 members before being shut down by the Orkut moderators.

Upon heading towards the forum one receives this error:

I would not be surprised if Google is conducting "a spring cleaning" throughout the forums in order to make it more user friendly (which may be the reason they shut down yesterday).

Monitoring the forums for hate content within is not a fun job as any chat or forum administrator can probably testify. But unless fringe groups like these are systematically purged, sites like Orkut will lose their appeal to the general public.
