While I was out and about today, finding out what was happening in life via Google News Mobile, I wondered whether or not if I could surf Orkut via my mobile phone (since Facebook, currently popular in America allows you to do this).
To my surprise I discovered that mobile is not available for Orkut yet as Google states:
Currently, orkut.com isn't compatible with mobile devices. To access your orkut profile, please try logging in using your computer's web browser.
Being the natural geek that I am, I started googling for "alternative results" and discovered Opera Mini which allows you to view the web through their mini browser. You need to make sure the browser can work in your phone first, and if so, have fun.
Unfortunately I was out of luck with Opera, and tried experimenting with Widsets instead. Widsets seems to be a great program, although my phone was not very pleased with the java it spit at me.
So, basically I am mobiless on Orkut, but if anyone is able to get any of these programs to work for their phone (AND log onto Orkut) let us all know by posting here.

I've browsed Orkut using a friend's N80 using the updated browser that reformats websites to fit on the mobile screen. It worked just about fine, but this was before Google went and turned most standard links into JavaScript links...
Opera Mobile (not Mini) works smoothly. Except you need to turn on desktop view to log in, because the password field is not scaled down correctly. After logging on, you can have Opera scale Orkut back to special mobile reading format.
Too bad Orkut implemented those Buttons instead of link. These aren't scaled down. Orkut was more mobile friendly before those changes.

Its not working even though i am using opera mini. Keeps on saying bad server for you. Can someone pls help.
Just today tried logging in to orkut using opera mini, by entering www.orkut.com and it worked, coz they might have changed the design of the login page.
So, no need to go for any other links.

the only way i was able to access orkut mobile is using T9space.com. This service is free and seems to allow access to other mobile sites . Works great 6120 nokia old school phone
On my iPhone, it works like a charm, like the regular desktop version!
download the opera 4 mini browser from operamini.com and you will be able to surf orkut completely. I am using it without any problem, in case any query please mail on ashher.aamir@gmail.com

I could not access in orkut from my mobile even after creating my gmai account.As when i tried to log in a note displayed asking me to log in from the pc
I can log in to orkut but I only can view half of the page. How can I fix the problem? Use to work great on my G1.
