When it comes to fighting spam, Google has done an excellent job within Gmail, Blogger and even Google Groups.
But when it comes to Orkut, it seems that spammers have found a new way around the word verification system. This probably explains why I keep getting various scraps attempting to improve my "love life" through various forms of physical touch. (I think these spammers need to get a day job)
I discovered this after talking to one of the members of the Orkut Underground (whose forum keeps getting deleted by Google) who showed me a simple GreaseMonkey script that allows a user to post a link and bypass the word verification process altogether (note: for obvious reasons I will not post that script here).
Over in the What should Orkut do? forum, Randi has a great suggestion on what Google could do to combat this.
scrapbook should have 3 options.
1 open to everyone
2 open to friends only
3 open for those who speaks same language as you
and you can choose what's best for you
Google is already working on this suggestion, as it is within the top five feature requests, although it wouldn't hurt to submit that request again.

Yes, those smap-emails are horrible. Who needs this crap? It is enought that every day we are getting those "commercial emails" and some bulk mail too.
You actually, said a good thing: those spammers have to find a full-time job for themselves, otherwise people will go crazy. It is like someone is calling your house from customer service and offering CERTAIN PRODUCTS, unless you BLOCK THAT LINE.
Second of all, it would be nice to have such a Scrapbook Spam so this way we really can see where it is coming from in three easy steps and what to do about it.
Third of all, google is a very good network in relation to others. It is fast,productive, smart. I really enjoy using it.
Hopefully, soon we will get that chance of using The Scrapbook Spam and won't have a headache!

I believe you shouldm have a way of blocking the scripts that improve somehow the okut stile and limit the scripts of some you know, blocking those who have the "send scrap automatic script"
I played a game in the internet and they managed to block every player that used some tipes of scripts to improve the game, and I believe you can use that in orkut.
