That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could help you..

When I had my.

Surgery.

, I was told to take fluids for the first month and make sure that those fluids have some kind of vitamins and electrolits like gatorade. Also I had to take a lot of chicken broth (hopefully home made) because it is packed with protein> I don't know if in Germany you can get Special K protein water which is also very good. Just be careful with the sugar intake!! You can get a sugar rush and believe it is not fun at all. Try low calorie drinks and.

STAY AWAY.

FROM SODAS!!!!..

As for vitamins and supplements, I was ordered to start taking them one month after my.

Surgery.

And PLEASE DO START TAKING THEM!!! Most important is your B-12COMPLEX SHOT!!.

That should be done once a month and it is for LIFE!.

This first month is about staying hydrated so keep a bottle of water with you at all times and sip, sip, sip.......

Also Jello is a great source and it is allowed the first month..

And please start.

Walking.

At least 15 minutes everyday, because it is going to help your metabolism move and get building muscle which is going to help you loose the weight faster and healthier. It also helps your skin recup better and less saggy.....

Good luck with everything and welcome to the "skinny" world!!!..

My surgeon didn't start me on my vitamins until 2 weeks out, and I did as many chewables I could find. Initially out of.

Surgery.

My surgeon just wanted me to get at least 50g of protein, and then worked up to about 80g after 3-4 months. Watch out for drinks like gatorade, because they can have too much sugar sometimes. I tried to keep it under 4g per sitting that first month or I would dump badly. Now, at 6 months out, I'm able to tolerate about 15g, but try to still stay under 10g because dumping is so not fun..

I don't take b-12 shots, just sublingual b-12 pills. Was never advised to take the shots instead. I also take.

Calcium.

Citrate, multi chewable, and D as recommended by my surgeon. I know all surgeons are different in the vitamin guidelines..

You may need to find an interpreter to ensure you can get your questions answered. Best of luck and you can always ask us anything!!!..

I didnt start taking in shakes and vitamins until about 2 weeks out. The first week was clear liquids (broths, juices with water, sugar free popsickles, etc.) Second week I could introduce creams and soft mushy Medifast food and shakes..

I have never had to have B12 shots..i know that all inclusive vitamins made for bariatric patients are not very popular on this site but I take Bariatric Fusion chewable vitamins. I take 4 a day. I am 8 months out and have had blood work done twice, my blood work is perfect and I feel great (with the exception of my.

Deficiency that I have had all of my life-good ol' Upstate NY)...
