Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..
I think after about 2weeks I considered it a plateau...and 3 months later when I was still floating around the same weight...,I knew it...LOL.
Longest ever....I still may have been there had it not been for the skin removal.

.........
But really i've lost over 165 lbs in less than 2 years....can I really complain????.
Karla..
I am with Karla on that one..
Two weeks is a PTA and 3 is plateau city..
I mean c'mon three weeks of Medifast diet and excercise and nothing..
Plus we are supposed to be malabsorbing on top of that!!!!!.
Thus far I would say my longest plateau has been between the 3-4 week range..
I realize that over the last 20 days I have lost 6 pounds and I am under 4 months out..
I would not exactly call that speedy beings at under six months out is the optimum weight loss time...
I get weighed once a month so if there's been a plateau I don't know about it...
Since I weigh once a month, I think I have missed a couple...but I'd say they've lasted a couple weeks. I'm basing that on the overall weight loss is about 3# a month the last several months. I am just now getting into the dreaded plateaus, as I get closer to reaching goal weight...
Perfect timing on this one as I am definitively on a plateau right now. I am just past 5 months and have been stuck for about 4 weeks. Up a pound down a pound. It is starting to get to me. Last week I went to the gym five days in a row and on Friday I rode my bike to and from work (11 miles each way) and nothing. I know it's a temporary thing (I.

Ksrt....
Callie says that it takes a couple of weeks to see the scale move again once you up your exercise/matabilism..
Good luck.
Lu..
2 weeks here.. Haven't seen the scale budge.. It can be disheartening to say the least but I keep.

That's it's temporary and the "whooosh fairy" will visit..I'm thinking she just went on.
Vacation.
And will return to work soon.... I.

!!!..
I guess I'm with everyone here. I consider a plateau starting when I weigh the same for 2 weeks. I just remember.

Some posts awhile back where a few of the newer gals were complaining of being on a plateau for 3-4 days, and I was thinking, geez, that's not really a plateau. Thanks guys for the responses!!!.
And yes Brett, I do really care about you all after all, LOL. I have just been really busy lately enjoying my new flat belly and all... I promise to come round more often...
Callie, I think I was one of the "newer gals," worrying about a plateau after only a few days. Fortunately, I've been wrong each time I worried about it; havent hit a real plateau, yet (5 months out). I keep an excel spreadsheet on my weigh loss and have lost at least 2 lbs a week...until this week when I lost 1. Since I had minor.
Surgery.
On my foot last Monday and have been somewhat immobile, the slowdown was to be expected..
To me, a plateau is more than 2 weeks with no loss at all, and that is still probably only a mini plateau. At 3 weeks, I would call it an official plateau (and whine accordingly)..
JJ..
I'm just curious what everyone's definition of a plateau is. Do you count them in days? Do you count yours in weeks? Or do you count yours in months?.
What is the minimum amount of time that goes by that you then consider yourself on a plateau. Is it 5 days, 2 weeks, or a whole month, etc.?.
How long did your longest plateau ever last? How long was your shortest plateau? Or do you even remember, LOL..
I'm just really curious since plateaus get us all, and they are easy to obsess over. Thanks for your responses...
Bi annial LOL. Stalled for 6 months...LMAO.
And still smiling with the first 3 months results. If I am done I'm content......
Buzz (a shadow from the past)..
I think after a couple of weeks, it looks like a plateau to me. My weight loss since.

Has been extremely slow, so I try hard not to focus on it. I am grateful that I am losing the weight even though it is taking longer than I wanted...
Callie,.
You ask all the good questions... this is something I have wondered about as well..
Crissia..
I'm 10 wks post-op and I went 5 wks with no loss and then last week I lost 10 lbs. I call that a plateau..
