Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..
Knock on wood, I am almost 8 months postop and have not had any dumping.....I do watch my sugar intake VERY, VERY carefully and also.
Avoid.
Anything deep fried or starchy (no pasta, noodles, rice, etc.)..
Avoid.
Sugar and too many carbs.. then your chances are even lower that you'll dump, READ LABELS! :).
Krista..
I am 16 months out and I have had a few occassions where I "have to get to the bathroom now" feelings, but I can't say I ever had the intense feeling of dumping like some people experience with the nausea, sweating, room spinning etc. I have never thrown up any food. I once in a great while feel like Ihave to, but all I get is the watery mouth and never any substance. This past Sunday I had crabs and cracked and ate one too many and had to lie down because I just felt bad, my stomach was too full. Within 20 min I had intense gas pain and once I got rid of the gas (where no one else was around), I felt fine and was able to resume visiting with my family!.
I have also never had the stuck in my throat feeling where Medifast food wouldn't go up or down. So overall, I am really lucky!.
I too watch the fat, fried foods, and starches and.
Avoid.
Sugars, so if you do all that chances are you will be fine too...
Good luck!..
I haven't had the dumping thing yet because I have been on protein drinks and clear liquids for the past three weeks. But today when I see my dietian I will be able to start on soft foods which I am looking forward to. My.
Surgery.
Was May 20th and I have lost 16 lbs so far. I heard having anything with sugar like desserts can cause dumping...
Not once ever! Close but no cigar. These things seem like big deals but their not. You be just fine, don't worry be happy..
Lu..
Its a lottery reds me little pickle... We read so many bad things about GBS..
I am about 9 months out and never dumped once....
I am not sugar intolerant at all.....
I have frotthed some and got bread stuck a few times and can eat just about everything now, just much much smaller portions...
One day will be so different from another, but it is important to try, being on a pureed Medifast diet or slider foods for to long is not good....
One step at a time, try something new, but just a little and see, I think you might be pleasnatly surprised ....
Good luck.
