Got a question, hope someone can answer... How can I eliminate the drop down Medifast menu on the search bar? Thanks for any answer. My other question... I was just curious...I have seen several post on how we all lose hair. I am a little over 3 months out I am now starting to lose "handfulls" of hair. How long does this process go on for? I am taking Biotin and using Nioxin but good golly...I was shocked when I seen how much I had in my hand. It started about a week ago but I think today was the "WOW" when it was actually a handfull!..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably know..

Thanks Shelly! In regards to the protein, I have been bad about it the last month because I have had little interest in anything except for water. Is it too late to start or is the damage done as far as the hair loss? I am slowly getting back into Medifast food again. I have actually been using your web site to get recipes so I can enjoy eating again; thanks for that!..

Those first few weeks when our calorie intake is extremely low and 70 grams of protein is impossible along with.

Surgery.

Shock, anesthesia, etc. are what do the damage. The results of this damage usually show in hair loss during the 3-6 month period..

Most Dr's suggest... 70+ grams of protein a day. Everyday rest of our lives. A few grouchy pouch days, sick days, just feel blah days, etc. won't harm ya but long term protein deficiency does gnarly stuff to the body (including hair.).

Hope.

You enjoy all you try from the blog ;).

Hair loss generally slows down about 6 month point. My came back after that thicker and wavier than before!..

Then there's.

Hope.

For me. I've always had thin fine hair. Maybe with the biotin, zinc and protein it'll get better..

Hugs! Patricia..

I actually didn't start losing hair until about month 3...and it continued through month 7. At month 14, where I am now, it has stopped, but I am still a bit think in the front. Hoping it grows back. I also have thick hair, or did before.

Surgery.

So was able to manage..

A trick that help hide more visible areas.... find a brown eye shadow that closely matches your hair color. It can be a little lighter or darker, as hair is not all one color. Using the applicator brush or a small brush tap the color onto the scalp, part line, or any area on the head where you feel is showing signs of thinning. it's a temporary fix and washes out when wet, but is amazingly affective day to day...

Started losing hair at 5 months post-op. Started slowing after about 6-8 weeks. Now almost 9 months out - only slightly more than normal loss. Never noticable in the mirror..

Always a good time to double-check your protein intake...

I am just over 3 months out and I'm holding my breath..

I am noticing some hairloss in the back..

Just some hairs (not handfuls yet) noticable as when I apply hair products after.

Washing.

And rumple up my hair in my hands I have noticable hairs in my hands..

My fingers are crossed that this is as bad as it gets..

I lost 75 pounds on Atkins 10 years ago and I lost a lot of hair (front).

It all grew back though...

I had some moderate hair loss around months 4 &5 - especially found it in my clothes dryer. But I haven't noticed any lately - I'm just past the 6 month mark. Let's.

Hope.

It was a phase and it's over...
