First of all How do I change my securtiy settings to allow Medifast cookies? Many thanks for any comment. Another question on my mind: Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great long weekend!.

I do plan to get this looked at by a doctor, but was wondering if anyone has any insight or suggestions..

I'm only 20 so this is quite strange, but for a past number years, probably 4+, I have had tremendous pain in my knees, but only when going upstairs (I am not overweight so no added strain there). It's foolish to not have gone to the doctor sooner, as I do have insurance.

Not an excuse, but it is so damn difficult with work and classes, etc. Anything raw-style that may help in the meantime? Other than avoiding going upstairs..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

I find that good quality oils help me stay not only pain free but symptom free from joint problems. My joint problems are in my elbows but if I use good oils I can go about my daily activities without any problems and basically forget that my elbows used to hurt. Anyone else have joint/oil experiences like mine ?

Hi Yana,.

Unfortunately I know all too well about knees. I've had issues with my right knee after suffering a softball injury and then I broke it again in a motorcycle accident in 2005. I still have pain and what has helped me is FLAXSEED OIL and green smoothies. But the flaxseed or hemp seed oil really helps to keep your joints lubricated..

That aside, it's a good idea not to mess with your knees. If you're experiencing extreme pain it could be a number of things, what comes to mind is your cartiliage or something going on with the actual mechanics and your flexion. I'm not a big fan of western medicine, but it may be a good next step for you to visit with an orthopedic surgeon. Don't get freaked about about the surgeon part, but they know bones well. They're bone mechanics..

I've gone through 4 of them in the past 2 years and they've all been stellar, wonderfully gifted individuals who worked in partnership with me to heal my body..

Anyway, get your knees checked out to be on the safe side is my advice..

And get yourself some flaxseed oil and have 2-3 tablespoons daily. I know it works. I have chronic pain in my right knee, have limited range of motion and I'm able to get by with this oil..

Peace & good luck!.

Edit: Visit with an acupuncturist too if you're open to this. Helped me tremendously!..

I like to space out my oil consumption as opposed to taking it all at once. I like to take small amounts of oil frequently throughout my day/night and I take it with meals. I like to use Hemp oil on my salads as a salad dressing. I use a small amount of good oil frequently and everythings OK but if I stop then after awhile the pain is back. So guess what ? I don't stop and now it's been a long, long time since I had any joint problems. Fortunately, I like the taste of a good oil and so it's a pleasure to use it. Try it as a salad dressing it's delicious..

Thank you all so much!!.

JoyfulGirl- I am trying to find a way to fit yoga and boxing/kickboxing back into my schedule. I know I will benefit greatly. Thank you for the article, I will definitely check it out.

..

EZ rider and crystalzgoneraw- looks like i'll be picking up a nice large jug of both flax and hemp oil, thank you!!.

Crystalzgoneraw- thank you tremendously for your post! I am so sorry for your knee issues, it's hell, isn't it. I frighten dentists for declining novacaine ever since childhood, "surgeon" doesn't frighten me, hehe. "mechanic", that's brilliant! I will certaining be visiting one for repairs.

Thanks again!..

Yana, good luck!.

Yes knee issues can suck. It was not fun for sure, but I'm just thankful to have my leg and to be independent and able to walk. These are huge for me because I was in a wheelchair for 1 1/2 years with multiple operations. Severely breaking my entire leg is what brought me to where I am today. I wouldn't even probably have considered raw foods for many years to come otherwise, but I needed to find a way to heal myself without drugs and I did! There is a reason for everything and I've learned quite a bit about how you just seem to find the strength to keep moving on despite the life challenges that sometimes come your way. Stay strong and you'll get through it.

It no longer has much precedence in my life..

Make sure you get referred to a great orthopedic surgeon and get 2nd opinions if surgery is recommended. Once they open up your knee, there's no turning back and you want to make sure you have the best of the best poking around in there. Hope I don't sound too preachy, I just learned the hard way...
