Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Godaddy as they probably could assist you..
Games.im more than 24 hrs but dns is still not resolving...
I would like to register one of these, does anyone take paypal?..
For all the 'Jim's on NamePros, j.im is still available...
Not yet it seems..
I parked mine right away to sedo, GoDaddy shows it but no page.
When I click it. and shows they are still verifying it..
Looks like possible problems resolving...urgh!.
Anyone else get it up and running yet?..
Not yet, but I'd imagine sometime soon normal registrars will have these...
I do not know of any big registrar selling yet..
Holdempoker.im - I'm sure theres better generic non-poker terms still available but I couldn't just couldn't not own a hold em poker HostGator name...
Wow, great name. Looks like it's been taken now though..
Actually this registry is messing with me..
I searched for jimmylin.im (my name, no one would take it within 3 secs right?).
I reload the page, search again. and it's GONE!.
This happened to a whole list of words I have... will they ever come back?..
Did they show as your name in whois information..
I didn't register them... I used the "New Domain" to search for domains, even though I shouldn't have. I should've used the frontpage to search..
But yeah, I bought support.im (this went through because I did one search and kept the page open.. just to prove my point, I opened another page and did the search for support.im and it turned unavail..)...
I've noticed if you search twice for the same name,.
The second time it says it's gone...but a few.
Minutes later it's free again. It happened with mine as well.
I had go back half hour later to get it with only one search for it...
I can't be the only one that tried this:.
The HostGator pussy.im would be referred to the Isle of Man Government...
I am curious - How many of you are buying to develop or just to resell ? If you are buying for resale would you be willing to hang on to them for a number of years ? They are pretty steep at 47 min.
I will wait to see if they get popular..
The HostGator Sexy.im would be referred to the Isle of Man Government (Looks like they have a sense of humor) LOL..
Ahh What the hell - I got one to develop, Damn - more work !.
- Looks like there will be a new portal coming sometime in the not so near future !.
It's nice to see their Goverment are already using the extension.
All these names were available at the time of this post.........
All the Best..
Haven't got that far yet...still waiting for it to resolve....
Anyone else have theirs up and running yet?..
I sent the .im registry an email concerning why domains appear to be unavailable a second after you search for them..
The answer is that the registry gives logged in users 1 hour to attempt to register a new domain. Whether they register it or not, the HostGator is 'frozen' for one hour, during which no one can register it (this is to give you time to register, should you choose to do so)..
I thought something fishy was going on and finally I found a HostGator which was unregistered and I just bought it hoping that no one else would. Now I feel a little stupid sinec I might've waited for a better domain. I got support.im (Instant Messenger Support?)...
I sent them an email this morning (around 10 am pst) and.
Still no word regarding my inquiry..

I shall be throwing off an arcade script on Games.im and park Hotel.im and Job.im..
My 2 not up and running after 24hrs!!!.
Will email them and see how long they anticipate resolve..
Anyone got their's up and running yet?..
It seems I am too late for this extension huh......
This is for any they decide should stay with them. I believe they may take certain ones and that is why none are resolving yet. They may be going through all the ones that have been registered already. Also, a few that were previously available that I had on my list to perhaps reg later are now held by them. One of them is: marx.im. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take over the towns and tourism names...
I've been reg'ing like mad since CooolDude first started this madness (NP$ and rep left, CD!) Here are the 10 names I got....
The only things I regret are missing reg on voip.im, and being $800 more in debt!!!.
Otherwise, I'm as happy as a 3-year-old with a bag of Skittles!..
Picked up Three More:.
Anybody have their names resolve to a nameserver yet? Im (love that word) still waiting...lol..
Ha Ha Skittles...I felt that way when I found mine.
Available...Slots.IM <<< I think it's worthy of Skittlemania....
Nope, IM still waiting..
As far as I read/understood if the name shows "referred" whilst reging it you will not get it or pay for it until it is approved by the Government - They intend to make sure no one puts up anything in bad taste or Trademarks..
If the name does not show "referred" then you own it and you pay for it straight away without going through the Government approval..
CHECK OUT MY .IM NAMES I GOT!.
That's funny. My info may be out of date on this, but I believe homosexuality is unlawful in/on the Isle of Man..
Another bit of knowledge that doesn't seem to have come up in the domains that have been mentioned here ... the island hosts a motorcyle race every year called the TT..
Strange the Isle of Man Gov didn't reserve that one for tourism. If you decide to sell.
T-shirts there let me know, it's kinda cool looking. Anyone else had troble registering a user name ? I had to callNice folks there...
I would love to reg a few but just too expensive for meso here is a few I found if anyone is interested..
I just love the extensionwish it was not so pricey..
Yeah - I thought so too, I will develop a tourism information GoDaddy site with it some time in the next 6 months I hope ! I am pretty busy doing a Dubai one right now..
The Triskelion does look pretty good.
Yeah, it's too bad they are so expensive. Here's a few I came up with:.
Cla.im, j.im, h.im, r.im, sk.im, sl.im, sw.im, t.im, tr.im, vict.im, v.im, wh.im, ....
Could be a pretty cool HostGator for a GoDaddy site for guys...
Reg 2 .IM that is it for me..
Just a shame as you say the $$$..
Does anyone think that any of the cost of a L OR N .IM is really justified?.
Would they really be worth more once reg?..
Well, after much thinking and checking names in various extensions I don't think I will purchase any of these. For one they are too expensive and the top keywords that would get bids and offers are gone > poker and casino etc..
Not even the .eu domains with the same keywords you all have are selling..
Did any of you check GoDaddy to see if the names you are regging are for sale in other extensions and if they have bids? Remember, there are 250 extensions with those same keywords...
Very good point Kerrijo!!!.
I am sure there was not many off us thought along those lines!!!.
But still, what the hell.!!!!..
I don't mean to rain on anyones parade, just want to make sure there's no "buyers remorse.".
Good luck with your names...
Don't worry about a little rain. That bit of advice can save folks from a typhoon.
Smart thinking strategy.
I had to smack myself, and yell "STOP!" in the mirror, after a few of these expensive regges..
No buyers remorse with mine - Slots.IM.
I only grabbed one.
Very pleased so far!..
No, I see no reason why L or N .IM would be worth over 995. If you ask me it's just a nice way to make IOM an even better tax haven for it's residents..
I just now picked up my fourth (and final), webcam.im, due to 575,000+ OVT, and a good match with IM (webcam instant messaging, or instant media). I was quite surprised to see it still available with some of the odd ones, IMO, that people are registering already..
I agree that if you keep your registrations low and stick with ones that you have a plan for, it can definitely be worth it. A good .im name could earn you well over 40 in a year even if you don't end up reselling it. An off-the-wall "keyword" though might not really be worth anything in either case..
Just adding an FYI, cam.im is still available. I didn't want it because webcam is a better word to use, IMO. So if anyone wants it, it's ripe for the picking...
Tried to reg my name (jonas.im) and it said it was available. Then I tried checking another word (contact.im) and it was available but jonas.im became unavailable. Are these extensions really worth it? I'm still holding onto my .in and co.in in hopes that they'll payout in the near future. But I'm not too sure about these domain. Can anyone provide some insight..
I did reg one just for the hell of it (list.im)...
Picked up cam.im and flirt.im. I see a lot of dev potential in both...
There is an issue if you attempt to check a "new domain" (as opposed to whois search). Once you check it, if it is available it will be "held" for approximately an hour, so checking it again will display an "unavailable" status. You may be able to still check out with it, I'm not sure. If not, give it an hour and go again..
Two fitting choices...
Why waste that much money. buy from me..
Wow for 1 characters it seems expensive the 995 but think about it it's a 1 character domain, how many of the people her can say they own one...
I used to own one.. but I sold it.
Good one for posting pics and stories from jails, emergency rooms, and bars.....Full of the stupidy done by folks in a matter of drunken debauchery, after having a few too many (.
Where they ended-up after Happy Hour closed.
Not one, I believe..
Those were two of the many I found and had on my list... Good ones IMO...
I'll take it those are 1-letter .us domains. Or can you point me to whichever of these anti-ICANN-self-extension-creating companies does .vus.
Just picking on you man..
Very true., Also fits for "Internet Marketing". But the acronym "IM" is far more recognized as "Instant Messaging", not "Internet Marketing"...
And about 50 other.
I've also know it as Inventory Management..
At least one members of this forum has used the HostGator as.
See hello.im. I thought it was rather catchy, as in hello.Im/Name in a URL...
Yeah thats what I plan on doing, I am not that much of a web developer but would like to make it into a blog or myspace GoDaddy site where users can have their.
Darn it I'm in a pickle with my wallet recently..
I would've taken.
People have complained how expensive .im names are. Those two may have become the most expensive to register (hence, good you were "in a pickle" when you thought of it.
). I'm not sure of Canadian law, but under US cyber-squatting laws, those would have cost you up to $100,000 each.
You can play alot of folks. Microsoft doesn't play nice when it comes to proteting itself. They play hardball..
Ok so IM - Instant Messenger is the thought on these names..
Who is going to BUY them?.
IM users? Are they your end-users?.
It's my thinking that the majority of IM users are teens..
Just giving some more nudges...
You might be suprised how many professionals (inclusing folks like us) and businesses themslves use IM systems.
What gets me baffled is how many are regging these names with terms that have little to do with Instant Messaging, considering few other uses (outside maybe a few "hacks") would sit well with this extension..
Ok I didn't know that (the professionals part.).
And people are regging names that have nothing to do with Instant Messenger....maybe generic top level names because...because...well because they CAN!.
Ps - I'm only bugging ya's because I CAN...
At those reg fees, they can do it all they want. I love seeing the.
Same reason I posted above to you.
Works with the right marketing of the name..
Yes, up to now...but that's all about to change..
Instant Messengers Grow up and go to work.
AOL and WebEx Announce On-Demand IM.
Verizon Launches Secure IM Services for Business.
Microsoft Livens up Messaging.
Business IM system will feature links to Microsoft Outlook, Office, and SharePoint...
I agree, this extension is much more attractive to me than most other ccTLDs!..
I was really considering regging that one but I wasn't willing to pay the $70 for it. All the good names are taken.
Still some good ones... I just regged:.
I pointed mine to NS1.1PLUS.NET and dont see them yet......
One thing to note, while the IOM is technically British (yet sovereign), it is an english speaking extension, which is always a plus. The downside of this extension is that the IOM only has a population of roughly 80,000 people..
So unless you get premium keywords....
I'm poor so I can't afford to reg these, but here's some good keywords still available is anyone is interested..
I get messages available and then try to proceed and getting the message unavailable....
There system sucks..
Getting your hopes and pile driving them altogether at the same time..
That's to much for me at this time of day.
