My question is How do I get rid of or block out the tracking Medifast cookies? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another quick question... I am watching this show on Discovery Health right now with my 11 year old daughter. This woman weighed about 600 pounds and had GP surgery. She lost well over 400 pounds and she is now trying to have a series of surgeries to remove sagging skin. What is amazing to me is after all of that weight loss how bad she looks.

My daughter said if the wind blows too hard all her hair is going to fall out.

Because of the GP surgery she is unable to get enough calories and nutrients to heal well, so her cosmetic surgeries have resulted in slow healing and infections. She couldn't eat more than four bites of Medifast food at dinner. At the end of the show, the doctor for the last surgeries (breast and arm lifts) refused to do the surgeries because she is in such poor health. And she is angry and guess what, she resorted to eating to soothe her anger. After seeing this and seeing what happened to Kanye West's mother, I have decided that whatever weight I end up while living a raw lifestyle is where I need to be.

The good thing is while I know I will have some sagging skin, losing weight on raw ensures that the sagging skin will not be as much of a problem as with fad diets. I feel so blessed to have found this way of living and I am glad that I didn't resort to surgery. Thanks for listening to my rant, I'm off to watch that nasty little man Andrew Zimmer and Bizarre Foods around the world. It just reminds me how blessed we all are that we have choices when it comes to our health and the foods we can eat..

Hunny..

Indeed, hunny. Thanks for the reminder. I, as well, feel lucky to have found this path. It has done a whole lot for me as well...

I saw that episode, too, and one of the many things that caught my attention was her hair and how unhealthy it looked. I felt badly for her...

I saw that episode too and while I was happy she lost all that weight and got her life back, I was sad for how sick she still looked. I read somewhere that a lot of GB patients has thinning hair problems. I wonder if she could switch over to a raw Medifast diet or don't most GB patients have to stick with some sort of protein diet? She looked very pale and weak to me. Even a green smoothie a day might help..

Cheers,.

People who have this gastric Bypass surgery become very malnourished. Not that they were nourished before it, but after the surgery is when the cells really start crying for real nourishment. The procedure ruins the entire digestive system. Many even die on the surgery table or shortly after the surgery from complications. You just do not hear much about the cons of gastric bypass surgery because if people really knew the truth about it, they would never ever have it done. I did not get to see this show, but my heart goes out to this poor lady and to anyone who has had this surgery.

I too thank God for discovering Raw!.

HUGS,.

My dh & I saw this show too and couldn't tear our eyes away in a horrified fascination.

(like an staring at an accident on the road as you are waved past by a policeman).

I am thrilled that I found 'in' on the best kept secret ever.

On losing weight with out the complications, exorbitant costs, follow-up sugery, and extreme denials.....

Raw Medifast food really is a miracle..

Too bad we can't quickly convince those we love most.

And those who need this sooo badly.

Just how much of a miracle this is....

Perhaps in time, and seeing our successes.

Many others will benefit too...

It's a shame that people feel they need to resort to surgery. I'm about 25lbs overweight and hope to lose that over the next few months. Since I've started eating raw, I've found that I don't get hungry. I suppose that is because my body is receiving all the nutrients it needs. I believe cravings kick in when your body is lacking something. With eating raw, your body feels satisfied as you're fuelling it with the right stuff...

A friend of my mom's got gastric bypass surgery. She lost a lot of weight, but she looked pale and unhealthy. She died suddenly several months later - the autopsy revealed that she had gangrenous intestines. It was so sad, and so unnecessary...

I Had The Surgery In 06 And Lost 86lbs And Doing Very Well. I Did What The Md Told Me To Do In Order Not To Have Any Complications And I Did Very Well. When People Have Not Dealt With Their Addictions And Continue The Same Lifestyle Previous To Surgery, They're Going To Have Complications. I Look Great! I Do Wished I Knew About The Raw Lifestyle And I Would Have Tried It First But I Have No Regrets. The Raw Lifestyle Is The Best Way To Eat And To Loose Weight The Healthy Way. My Medical Problems Are In Control Since The Surgery And I Had Swore To Myself That If I Had This Surgery And Lost The Weight, I'll Never Be Fat And Unhealthy Again!!!!! Doing The Raw Lifestyle Is A No Brainner, I Feel More In Control Of My Eating And One Less Thing To Focus On.

I Did Not Met The Criteria For Weight Loss But Met It For Medical Reasons. I Am Slim And Want To Stay This Way And Be Healthy...

My father had a form of this surgery back in the late 70's. It nearly killed him and his life has never been the same. He nearly died about 4 differant times from the surgery and complications from it. His was 35 at the time. He weighed around 400 lbs. During the surgery he was revived after his heart stopped..

He did lose the weight. He has saggy skin to this day. They did remove some of the excess skin but not all of it. He to this day thows up whenever he eats too much. He gets very ill if eats certain foods. his health has never been totally regained.

She has had it redone since that time. She regained her weight and her docter redid the surgery. Even after the second time, she regained the weight. I am not sure how her health is today as we lost track of her. I realize some people have the surgery and seemed happy with the results.

I prefer the raw Medifast food way. I have been struggling for several years with being raw. Finally, after trying Alissa's recipes I think I have found the key to being successful. I have 140 pounds to lose. I look forward to losing it the "safe" and healthy way...
