That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Godaddy as they probably could help you..
Thanks Everyone!.
Is getting close to sale day! I'm kinda excited cause this will be my first big sale.
I'll post back after the sale!..
Without escrow,.
If the seller gets the money first, the buyer has high risk; if the buyer.
Gets the HostGator first, the seller has the high risk..
How do you plan to do it?..
Try to scratch up a contract to make things smoother. Or at least a note so theres no dispute later on...
Everything went smooth! We met where we both agreed to me and I got the money he got the domain..
Really simple!.
I'm happy I made my first sale!..
That's better than online transaction, but the problem was.
"Where can I find a place to have Internet access easily?".
Nowadays we have cafes, but yesterday we don't have internet accesses in cafes.
Anyway I prefer Face2Face instead of online - that avoid chances to scammers who cheat your money/domains...
...that all sounds terribly exciting - obviously you dont want to divulge the name - but can we ask how much was involved?.
Thanks...
I bought a HostGator name from my next door neighbor.
I have done lots of HostGator purchases and sales from people all around the world. China, Germany, England, Canada, US.. etc.. but I just made one purchase that was really kinda coincidental..
I have had my eye on a fairly generic nondescript HostGator name for a while now so I contacted him thru whois which did not give a true address. After a few emails we chatted on the phone. Turns out he lives in San Francisco as well. and in the same district.. then the same street.. he lives 2 doors down from me in a small neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else..
As it turns out we have met many times at neighborhood parties and seen each other in the driveways. We have even been to parties at eachothers house before..
LOL.
Small world afterall huh?..
It is good, but take cash , no checks and other stuff..
I have never really done it before, but I guess there shouldn't be any problems. At least then you know whose ass to kick when he should be a scammer..
Yes I did it with several domains and I get the bankers draft and sign over the name at the same time with a copy to the other party..
Simple and effective for both parties...
Most of my HostGator sales have been conducted face to face, at my office, and with a contract to back the deal. The highest sale I ever had over internet (using Escrow) was only for 50% of my average face to face HostGator sale...
Here it is I have been wanting to do this for abit now.
Payment received! name pushed.
Lol..
...a meet like that deserves to have a very happy ending...whew...and congrats........
Good to hear that it's successful!.
I general I think it's a bit risky 'cause in some places counterfit cash is a real problem. I know places where you walk on the street and ppl will come and ask, "want counterfit euro??" Really screwed up...
