Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..
Since it is your front tooth. I would be careful and just cut up your fruits and veggies. Crowns chip as well and when they do you have to replace the whole thing. I am going to have my crown replaced due to it being chipped (molar)..
Since you have a temporary, don't eat any thing chewy like eating plain dates or milk duds (totally not raw). Once you have your permanent sticky stuff is fine but don't bite teeth first hard things like apples. HTH...
The nurse told me about cutting the corn off but not anything about dicing up an apple..
She said I could slice the apple..
I can tell it's going to take some getting use to not having my regular tooth.
But it beats not having one at all..

You don't have to dice the apple. Just slice it and chew with back teeth as usual..
One thing I've found is that decay gets under the crown and it's a good thing when the crown does come off every few years so you can get that cleaned out. I've had all my amalgams removed and replaced with porcelain and the crowns removed, cleaned and replaced over the last few months. What a difference in my energy!.
Revvell..
All of my front teeth are crowns. I bite apples for the first time in my life..
I probably shouldn't...
I've had a crown on my front tooth since I was 15 - unfortunate beach accident - my mouth and someone else's forehead collided wave riding. Ouch. Anyhow, bottom line, use common sense and don't chomp down directly on anything too hard or chewy if you want it to last. It is never as strong as your natural tooth. Over time, it will need replacing...but not for many years if you are careful. Eat what you want, adjust how you do it...
Do your crowns feel different than your regular teeth?.
Have long have you had them in?.
It took about an hour for the dentist to put in the temporary tooth, i'm wondering how much longer it will be to put in the permanent crown.
Amberly, wow both of your front teeth are crowns.
Do you love them?.
I'm excited about having mine put in, thanks so much for the encouragement.
..
I appreciate all the support that you all have given me..

My front 5 are crown and I absolutely love them. I can smile now!!! They look and feel like real teeth to me. But they are smoother, which I like...
Shouldn't be long since most the work is already done. Stick it on; file it so the bite is right ~ good-to-go!..
I was just so happy that my husband had dental insurance on the job..
I couldn't believe that a crown cost $1470.00 and that didn't include the root canal work..
That's Christmas for us.

It doesn't feel exactly like my other teeth - it's a bit thicker in the back. But not bad and you get used to it. It looks quite real and matches great (I love my dentist). Modern dentistry is a miracle!..
If I had to have this happen i'm so thankful that it happened now..
With all the changes that the dental practice has gone through it's almost a pleasure to go.
I have been afraid of the dentist for years but now I don't mind going.
His nurse helped me to be calm and the dentist was so gentle and nice, it was a good experience..
