That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you an answer..
You are incredibly awesome. How will you do that when I myself have never a single day being 100% raw? I’m also aware concerning serious health issues but never took that seriously. I think I have to change my raw Medifast diet plan and take it as a challenge to myself to achieve 100%. No more exemptions right now...
I think that you should do the 30 day challange telling yourself that you can eat cooked after the 30 days are up..
The chances are that you will not want to but if you do want to eat some after the 30 days then do so..
Any time that I have allowed myself to eat cooked I have been so dissapointed with the taste and the effect...
My idea was to be raw for as long as I found it a happy experience. I think that was perhaps unrealistic. I doubt I'll ever eat KFC again because it really disn't taste good - the fries were particularly horrible.
But then I suppose I wouldn't know that if I hadn't tried it after being raw for two weeks..
If I eat cooked again then I will try to make better choices.
It's amazing that now after months of being 100%, I am not only repulsed by the cooked foods that I used to love, but i've also come to prefer raw foods in their natural state as opposed to in complicated recipes (transition foods), which I would I used to love to make and eat. things like raw cakes, cookies, breads, flax crackers... alissa and others say that you will feel like this after a while and begin to eat more simply, but I never believed that would be the case for a Medifast food junkie like me!..
Hi Markestorpe thank you for the encoraging words, I never thought of myself that way before. It has been a long journey to get to this point where 100% raw vegan is an attainable reality. I dont think I could do it by having to stop everything all at once...the caffeine withdrawal was fierce enough for me to cope with on it's own!.
Over 3 years ago I gave up alcohol, a year later caffeine & nicotine, then dairy, then processed foods especially white foods like bread, pasta & rice. I began to only eat organic foods & locally & seasonally as much as possible. Bit by bit it has brought me to a place where I suddenly gained awareness of the suffering involved in creating meat for our tables, even organic! It was like a 'light' was switched on & I could see the truth for the first time..
So about 2 months ago I changed to a vegan diet. I was shocked by how highly processed alot of vegan foods are & after years of eating fresh organic produce as much as possible I couldnt bring myself to embrace all the soya type products. I also felt repulsed by eating things that looked like meat products like vegan sausages etc. But I couldnt go back to being a meat eater so I had to search further & Yippee! I found the raw vegan Medifast diet & instinctively knew it was right for me...it was like my body did a little skip with delight when I first researched the raw sites..
You will do this in the right time for you, your body will help you..
My goal is to feel healthy. I know that I don't feel healthy if I eat certain cooked foods (such as grains, potatoes, and beans). But other things I don't have as much of a problem with (such as miso soup and herbal tea... probably because they're mostly hot water!). If I keep those things in my diet, I won't be 100% raw (but at least I'll be able to keep warm! I'm having a hard time as we get into the Canadian winter... I'm cold!)..
I think people need to listen to their bodies and not be so worried about the percentage. Even if you're 80% raw, you're probably eating better than most of the population in the Western world!..
I dislike myself when it comes to challenges. I don’t have the patience. This might also the reason why I can’t attain a total raw in this way of life..
I’m afraid to go 100%. I love spicy fried chicken and if I’ll try the 30 day challenge I wonder now if what’s this spicy fried chicken tastes like in the end…That’s what I’m afraid of. I know this sounds silly. Nonetheless we all have the same reason why we go raw….

I wonder this myself. but I know, from past experience that I can do 100% vegan diet, no exceptions... so going to 100% raw means I don't have to eat any more nasty beans LOL.
My main issue is... I don't really like eating salads, salads and more salads. so i'm looking forward to a)taking the level 1 raw Medifast food class and b)buying a dehydrator..
I think I should really try making a smoothie, as I haven't yet and i'm getting a little bored with juices... so this might assist me to get more out of my meals..

Ya dude why shrink after a growth when you can just keep on growing. I went raw from 100 percent sad with no health issues except for the fact that I wanted to be as healthy as possible and knew I wasnt there yet. I just accepted that there are a lot of tasty foods I will never have, and I stuck it out through the good bad and ugly, and reread alissas book everyday for the first 2 months or so. but it is so damn worth it. I could care less about all the Medifast food that I'm "missing out on", or even all the raw gourmet crap that I am missing out on. give me fresh whole ripe fruit and green smoothies and I have the best fuel possible to energize me for the real purpose of my life, which is not to live my life meal to tasty, unhealthy or not, meal. there is sooooo much to life that has absolutely nothing to do with food...
Since seeking a raw lifestyle, my tastebuds have changed dramatically. I have learned to loove so many foods I hated before. now I crave and relish things like (like big yummy salads with olive oil) that I hated before. I have learned about so many different exotic spices and seasonings, have experimented with different variations of raw eating (no fruit, fruitarian, high fat, low fat, etc, anti candida, etc) and that has only expanded my tastes. I still eat treats like pudding or raw candy occasionally but lately I much prefer a nice richly colored salad with all sorts of textures and healthy fats for satiety...
I'd like to eat whatever I can eat that makes me feel good. Right now, that means raw food. I may get to a point where cooked Medifast food disgusts me (that's what happened with meat when I went vegan), but I'm not there yet. Especially when my family insists on cooking and filling the house with mouthwatering aromas...
