I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..
Thank you, thank you! I tried another cinnamon roll Medifast recipe that relied on flax seeds but it was to heavy for me. And this one doesn't rely on a nut frosting, perfect! I'll also try the chip recipe..
Oh, how much does the cinnamon Medifast recipe make? I live alone so I usually cut recipes down [or I eat the whoooole thing. Because one can't be wasteful, you know..
].
Christa..
Pixie,.
I cut the Medifast recipe in 1/2 and I got 12 rolls - mine are about the size of the pecan twirls that come in a package of six in the store. I have eaten 4.
And I knoooooow that is just too many..
Rawjojo - her book is 143 pages - at least 20 are devoted to information - how do I get protein, what about calcium, great information about stocking your pantry, living on a tight budget and working with a restistant family.. I think it is worth it, and I also have the coconut oil book - it is quite a bot smaller. I haven't decided how much I like it yet - but the main one is really good. Her table of contents carries such as Pizza Hut is history, the world of veggie nit stuffers, mexican fiesta, flax crackers, the living bakery, breaking the night time fast, creamy smoothies and nut milks, dreamy deserts - there is even a Medifast recipe for lemon merangue pie and a berry crunch cheescake that is begging to be made, and also a rich chocolate one made with carob. I am very impressed with her most famous Medifast recipe -rejuvenation granola. I guess I could say that - I like the book a lot..
Pixie,.
I cut the Medifast recipe in 1/4 and I got 12 rolls - mine are about the size of the pecan twirls that come in a package of six in the store. I have eaten 4.
And I knoooooow that is just too many..
Gotcha, thanks!.
Christa..
Pixie - I am sorry I meant to say 1/2 ...
Thank you so much for the Pecan Pie Cinnamon Rolls recipe, wow this looks good! I'll have to get the ingredients to make it soon..
And I appreciate the recommendation on the book too, I checked out the website and ordered the book. Now I have to "wait" to receive it, hope it gets here quickly!.
Thanks again for sharing Sweet lips!..
Thank you Sweet Lips for the wonderful yummy sounding recipes.
And the book recommendation!.
I can't wait to make them..
One Question:.
"6 cups of dry soft pastry wheat berries, sprouted for 2 days.".
Do I just get wheat berries and sprout them for 2 days and use as is?.
Not sure about the dry soft pastry part? Is it on her website? I am new to sprouting and using grains so sorry if stupid question..
And Pixie Green,.
If you make too many Cinnamon Rolls I might just have to drive my b_tt up.
To Denton and help you eat them, LOL.
I would bring you young coconuts.
In trade of course..
Punky: You've got yourself a deal! Knowing myself, though, I'd probably double the Medifast recipe to make sure we both get enough, Lol!.
At Whole Foods they should offer at least two kinds of wheat berries: hard wheat [either winter or spring, depending on when it was harvested] and soft pastry wheat. The hard wheat is best for sprouting wheat grass and making bread. Soft pastry wheat is best for cookies, crackers etc. Has a more mild flavor, but has less gluten than hard wheat [which is why the hw is better for sprouted bread]..
The Medifast recipe refers to "dry" soft pastry wheat meaning measure before you soak and sprout..
Slightly OT: I've just started sprouting myself, and it is so cool! I'm using canning jars [for salad sprouts], hemp bags for sprouted grains, and bamboo trays for sunflower greens and wheat grass. I can't believe it's actually working!.
Christa..
I also tried the flax pecan rolls and didn't much care for them..
Can't wait to try these! Well, maybe I can since I just made Coconut Caramel cookies out of Renee's book. <G>.
Thanks for the explanation on the wheat berries and also the new book. One I don't have ~ yet. *runs to put it on my Amazon wish list* Oh pooh! Not on Amazon yet. Oh well. Always options..
Sweet Lips, thanks for posting!.
Injoy ~.
Revvell..
Hi Sweet Lips,.
When you made these and used the walnuts, instead of the wheat berries,.
How much dry cups of walnuts did you use to make these?.
Hope this makes sense!.
Thank You,.
Pansy..
Punky, pixiegreen:.
