Yup, but... you might want to make sure and wait for someone else to confirm it as I am unsure of myself. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the iContact guys because they can answer your iContact question better...
Hmm, when I typed it in exactly the way you said, when I highlight it, it's different now, but it still doesnt work..
The way I have it now looks like this:.
<img src="ewHeader.gif" align="top" style="position:absolute; z-index:-1".
></P>.
Any other ideas?.
PS: thank you for the help kram...
You could just try positioning the links lower on the screen, it may work. If it is a positioning problem, that should fix it. But other than that nothing is comming to mind...
Hmm, I repositioned some of the stuff around a little, and although thats a good idea to move it around, I know in the future I'm ganna want links in that area as well, and it's ganna become a big problem. If only I could fix this problem asap then I wouldnt have to worry about it later..
If anyone else has suggestions please feel free to reply..
And kram, thank you for everything. Also, kram, dont worry about it too much, if you cant figure it out thats fine, I'm sure someone out there will be able to help me. Thanx for replying...
In the DIV that holds the links.
You could do the same thing as the header image, but change the z-index to a higher number, say 2 or 3..
Give it a try....
Ie...
Wait, I'm a little confused, can you explain that a little more in detail..
PS: I'm going to bed right now, so I wont be back till tomorrow, respond if you would like, and ill reply tomorrow at school...
Ok what I meant was the div tag that is just before the links:.
Put the same style stuff that I said before inside that first DIV tag and see what it will do, but change the z-index to 2 instead of -1..
Are you talking about the links that come out of the main links?? From the flash movie?? You will have to make them links.
Within.
Flash..
I've added the code in a file that I think would make a bit of difference, (containing the thoughts of Kram)..
Well as I said before, your flash is huge, it is covering half the page. all of the stuff under the flash will not be clickable. there is no way around it but redesign your flash links...
Ok, first things first:.
TO Kram:.
Ok, I see what you mean now, ill try that as soon as I finish this messege and see what happens..
TO Ninkasi:.
Thank you, but thats not what I ment. I already know how to get the buttons within the flast menu to work, I just havnt done that yet. What I ment was how can I make it so the here button on my abut page is able to be clicked. For some reason the header or whatever and the flash menu are on top of it making it unclickable..
TO Scoutt:.
Hi again scout, Well I made the flash menu a little smaller, I figured out what was wrong, when I uploaded my new flash swf to my iContact site I forgot to change the dimensions in the code for the height and width. Also scoutt, if I was to make a new menu(because the one I currently have covers the content), how should I make it?.
I think I covered it all, or I hope I did. If you have any questions just ask...
With the re-design of your menus, be creative, have a look around at some other site, they have great menus on them, maybe you could consider drop down menus from the top? Then you could position the links lower in the page without it looking bad. There are so many possiblities you can do...
To Kram and Ninkasi:.
Hi again, ok so I changed it the way you guys told me but now when I try to use the flash menu, the content appears ontop of the flash menu, and I cant read the flash menu..
PS: I know ive asked this before but I wanna ask again incase new people are reading this. Is there any way that I can somehow make the flash menu when it is not rolledover I can make it apear below the content and then when the mouse is rolled over the flash menu it goes on top of the content. Anyone know how to do this or if it's possible?..
Ok, so I think your main problem is the design of your links, read my last post about the design..
Hmm, I see what you mean, but that could be a pain in the butt redesigning a whole new one. It took me all night just to make the one I already have and it's still not done..
Hopefully someone can figure out a way that I can do what I asked in my last post..
What you put them both the same, what would happen then?..
U mean put the whole flash menu code all inside wheree you said <!Flash menu's here: >?????..
Yeh..
But then that would make it the same as before... ARGH!! I don't know!! This would probably be better served in the Flash forum..
That wouldnt work, because I have it set up where , the content is set up in a table that you cant see, and so if I put the menu in there it would be all scrwd up..
Ok....
With the rollover thing, in normal html (not flash), I would make a 2 functions that are called onMouseOut and onMouseOver. These would set the z-index to what ever you want (-1 or 2, etc...). However, Im not sure that this would work with flash because it is one big slab of application on the page, rather than lots of little html elements..
Ie..
And the function would b something like this (but not too sure):.
And similar for the other function, but this is not based on flash, maybe you should look into javascript menus, they are good as well, and you will probably not have these issues...
Hey guys, something wierd just happened to my computer, on my website, all of a sudden somehow my about.html page got deleted...i cant find it anywhere, also text on my screen looks smaller than usual, what happneed? Please help...
Well I have no idea...i cant access your page now, did you change something? Is the file on your own computer? maybe a virus? Maybe someone else deleted it...i dont think for sure, you may have to figure that one out....
Do you have back ups?..
Well, thankfully ninkais put the whole html file on this forum when he was showing me what to change, thanks ninkais..
PS: also the reason I dont use javascript is because my webhost only allows 50 files on my iContact site manager. So if I had a javascrip menu I would need almost 50 images just for the menu not including the pages. Infact I used to have a javascript menu but had to change because of this reason. At least in flash I can have everything in just 1 file. Unless you know of a free iContact website host that lets you have more than 50 files allowed and peferrebly that has no adds...
You could use tables to use with javascript. just change the background colour onmouseover..
Is there any reason why I cant view your iContact site at the moment?..
Im not sure, I can view it right now. But I think the reason you cant view it is because the link I posted on my very first post was of the about.html page. Not the main page,.
If you cant get to my iContact site it's probabbly because right now somehow the about.html page was deleted. So you wont be able to view that page, but all the others you will...
You cannot use z-index on a flash object. it doesn't worjk that way. the <object> is a windowed-element meaning it doesn't flow with the other elemtns, it sits above them. that is why your links are covered...
Ok, but is their any possible way without having to make a whole new menu that I can fix this problem?..
