I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..
I am pre-op but I do have medications that I HAVE to take everyday. It helps me to put them in a pill container sorted and then I put that container somewhere that I will see them everyday. It reminds me to take them. For example, right next to the glasses and the blender. I see them when I am getting my first glass of water in the morning. You can find good ones at Walgreens that have more than one compartment for the day...
Hello,.
Not sure what to say other than I had my.
Surgery.
The week after yours and I haven't weighed in but will tomorrow at Dr's and suspect that I've only lost ~50lbs..
I'm responding because I still cannot tolerate most foods/liquids without intense bouts of nausea which includes vitamins. My hair loss is significant to say the least! So now I force myself to take the vitamins and it seems as though I'm consuming them 4-5 out of 7 days. This is not a goal however, it is a significant improvment to date :).
I take Trader Joe's or Bariatric Advantage chewables (alternating) and a sublingual B12. My labs will be drawn tomorrow so I may be adding some more..
Hang in there and my only advice is to get a weekly pill dispenser and fill up the little cubes and see how well you do. This would rule out if you're not taking them as a result of behavior and that, you can always modify with changing your routine :).
You look great,.
Hope.
You feel better real soon!.
Colleen..
The dailys are not a problem for me. I take 2 of the chewable from bariatric advantage. My doc says that I should only take chewable or liquid..
I got a sample of strawberry, mixed berry and orange from my doc from.
Bariatricfusion.com.
And they were really tasty, I will order these next time. The orange taste like baby asprin but the strawberry tase like candy..
I know someone that didnt take her vitamines or.
Calcium.
And she has a lot of issues because of it, so it is all important... daily, b12,.
Calcium.
And protein..
Congrats on the weight loss, you look great...
I didn't do well with the vitamins at first either. I couldn't stand the taste of them crushed and I couldn't swallow them either due to size. I finally went to Baritric Advantage and got a great tasting chewable multivitamin, and chewable.
Calcium.
With.
Vitamin D.
In raspberry and lemon. I also take a b-12 sublingual weekly, and a B complex twice a day. I'm not very organized, so it has been hard for me to do this on a daily basis, and to remember to take the second B complex but I have finally made it a habit. I have to do bloodwork this week for my 3 month checkout, so I will find out how I am doing! Try any of the bariactric websites. The chewables are really very tasty!..
I am 4 years out and take vitamins daily. It is very important, but of course, get your labs done to make sure you are getting what you need. I took me a while to find vitamins that meet my needs. Some are gross and make me feel sick or give me hot flashes. Keep trying. I go everywhere from Walmart to Sam's to GNC to get what I need and take them faithfully everyday with a protein drink in the morning.
Don't neglect your body's needs...
Get one of these craft boxes.
They have them at joann's & michael's and sharpie marker numbers 1-31 and fill them with a month's supply. That way at a quick glance you can see if you missed. It's helped me remember :).

I have learned that it takes a little under a month to create a habit so give this a try. Make a note, tape it to the counter in front of your meds/vitamins so you take them before/with/after breakfast. Or put your car keys and your vitamins in the same place, when you get ready to.
Leave.
It should trigger a reminder to take them before you.
Leave.
The house in the morning. Concentrate on getting them in everyday for the month and see what happens..
I personally keep a stash in my purse and another few in a bag in my desk for when I forget to take them at home...
When I'm home I have a little saki cup with my pills sitting by my cell phone and when I'm out I use small craft baggies in my pocket. I also use the pill dispenser boxes for a weeks worth. I take as many chewable and sublinguils as I can to save having to take regular pills..
The reason we take so many vitamins is because we do not consume enough of them..
I take Flinistones chewables (i'm only a month post op) but they have.
Iron.
In them..
Potassium.
Is one of the big ones, if you do not get enough it can cause heart issues..
Magnesium.
Deficiencey = muscle spasms.

You are doing amazing! take the vitamins to make sure you continue to feel amazing...
I WANTED TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAS A HARD TIME TAKING VITAMINS. I JUST DON'T MAKE THAT A PRIORITY AND I THINK IT'S TAKING A TOLL ON MY TEETH AND BODY. I CURRENTLY TAKE BARIATRIC ADVANTAGE CAPSULES SIX A DAY. AND I TAKE.
CALCIUM.
CITRATE 4 PETITES A DAY. I DON'T TAKE.
IRON.
DUE TO THE LAST TIME CHECKED WAS IN THE TOXICITY RANGE TOLD ME TO STOP. I TAKE THE B-12 INJECTION MONTHLY. I DO THAT FAITHFULLY BUT NOT THE OTHERS PLEASE HELP ON A WAY TO MAKE SURE I TAKE THEM. I HAD GASTRIC BYPASS ON 4/23/08 STARTING WEIGHT 333. I NOW WEIGHT 174...
I am 3.5 yrs postop and taking my vitamins every morning is like getting up to go to the bathroom first thing. Its the first thing I do every morning. I've never had an issue ever with taking any of them. In the beginning of course when everthing was crushed was gross but once I could swallow them it's not a problem. I take either a multivitamin or a prenatal vitamin, B12 sublingual everyday, D3, biotin,.
Calcium.
Citrate (2 hrs after vitamins) and.
Fish Oil.
My Vit D is the only thing i've ever shown deficient on so thats why I take the supplement. Your body needs these vitamins that we don't absorb from our Medifast food so if you don't take them your body is gonna pay the price eventually. Its something so easy to do. Just make it part of your morning routine. Once a day is plenty. I don't know why you'd need to take them any more than that unless you are deficient in something.
I get mine at Walmart. A vitamin is a vitamin in my opinion and I don't have the money to be spending on special ones and I've never had had an issue. It takes 30 days to make or break a habit. Time for you to make a new one...
I am 16 months post op and still use the chewable Bariatric Advantage multi-vitamin. Blood work is good on them, so why change?.
As for ideas to remember? I'd associate it with some daily routine(s)....ie: doing hair or make up in the morning....have the bottle there, so it'll remind you. OR...keep them on the kitchen counter...breakfast or dinner = time to take vitamin. A third idea...put it on the nightstand and take when you get up in the morning and before you got to bed. (That's for two times a day. If you can't double up on yours...consider one with breakfast, one for snack, one for afternoon snack and one before bed time..
Keeping it near food...you WILL remember if you are eating. LOL.
Cindy..
THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD ADVICE I WILL PUT SOME OF THE IDEAS TO USE. HAVE A GREAT DAY...
Here is one more! I have 2 pill containers.. mine has A.M. and P.M. I fill them every 2 weeks and I keep one by my computer! fill them every 2 weeks.when I go to work I usually grab the AM ones and throw it in the pocket of my scrubs. my labs have all been good. I use opurity multis from unjury and you only have to take one a day.
Not bad, I use calcuim from sams. b12 sublingual 1x a week from wal mart. my labs have been great. for some reason this is one thing I'm faithful at doing. you can be too!..
I was instructed by my nut to take the vitamins after I eat in the 30 minutes before I am allowed to drink. So I keep most of them next to the sink. When I put the dishes (small bowl!) away, I grab my required vitamins. I also keep a stash in my lunch bag for lunch and another stash in my purse incase I end up eating out. (Ya right it will be 6 weeks tomorrow but I have found some good soup)..
My surgeons office says I can not take pills so am surprised to hear you are taking capsules..
I my self take the Bariatric Advantage Complete Multi Formula, chewable-Berry Flavor.
I take one and put it in between saran wrap and nail it with the "Heavy" meat hammer I have then scoop it onto tablespoon and I lick ittaste pretty good and it almost evaporates in your mout by licking it...
I take the bariatric advantage as well and sip a little liquid to liquify it as I chew. There are several pills by them that are a swallowable size. My dr said I can take pills if they are no larger than a standard gel cap or cut others up. I haven't had any trouble getting them down. I only had to crush the first week...
