Got a question... Need simple and easy chocolate chip Medifast cookies recipe? Looking forward for any answer. My 2nd question... I did purchase People Magazine yesterday so that I could read Emme's story and plus the fact that she was diagnosed with the same kind of cancer(Hodgkins lymphoma) that my daughter had. Emme say's that during her chemo, she drank up to 40 oz's of juiced greens a day, believing that the antioxidant rich veggies could boost her immune system..

Here comes the "Dr." part.........Many doctors however note that there is little medical evidence to support this claim..

Still, her oncologist says he saw "no harm" in his patient's daily practice..

It is very irritating to me when I read misinformation like this. I for one know how well the raw foods worked for my own daughter. She was diagnosed at stage 3b and when she came back home from where she was living, I about fell to my knees when I first saw her! Her husband was supporting her to just walk! She was in sooo much pain and agony! All she could do was lay on the sofa and cry/moan. She had been misdiagnosed twice before she finally went to the emergency room and was finally diagnosed with her cancer. They wanted to start her on chemo then and there.

SinceI am totally opposed to any kind of conventional cancer "treatment" , but knew that since she was age 21 and had to make her own choices, she decided that she would go the alternative route and let mom take care of her. Well in two weeks time.......due to fresh juicing, raw salads, detoxing, supplements, rebounding, new personal care products, no poison water, etc.........she was up and about and laughing and going places and doing things! You never would have known that two weeks prior tho this, she was indeed dying! She had an appt with the surgeon who was on duty that night in emergency when she was diagnosed and when I took her for her appt and he walked in the room.......He could not believe what he was seeing! I think the man was in Shock!.

Anyhow, I was saddened when my daughter was pressured into 6 months of chemo by relatives and "Dr's"! But like I said, my daughter was then 21 and an adult. But I did have an entire month to build up her immune system and because of this, her hair which was supposed to fall out by "treatment" number two.....it only thinned by month 5. Her periods never ceased, she never had nausea, she was never drained of energy......and her fertility was totally protected! her oncologist told her she would never be able to conceive as a result of the chemo. But I knew better! well guess what? At the end of her 6 month "treatments", she was pregnant! Her oncologist wanted her to make an immediate trip to the U of M medical center in Ann Arbor. She had an appt with the head of the oncologist dept and was told that they have NEVER encountered a case like hers! He was writing down her protocol I had her on like a madman.

My grandson, Zavian was born with perfect apgars and he is a very smart and active little guy. My daughter remains mostly raw today and her and her husband are getting ready to have their third baby. she is very active and thriving!.

Let me end by saying that I have absolutely no faith is so called "medical evidence" I know first hand how well RAW works and I thank GOD for this everyday..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

Wow thanks for sharing. I can't stand how the doctors either act like they don't know that raw foods are healing or just don't care to know as it would ruin there business. I believe there will come a day when majority of the world will know how bad our Medifast food is and they won't listen to doctors anymore..

That's a really beautiful story and well done on your and your daughter's part. What's so sickening is that people can actually PRINT such mis-truths and get away with it. How can he possibly say that there is no medical evidence to support the power of juicing? That's just an out and out lie, as we all know, not just from our experience but indeed there are DOCUMENTED cases of people curing cancer on the raw foods diet. Even if there were just one case, it would be false to state that there is no medical evidence, and there are far more than one cases..

I also do NOT trust the whole medical world, which is a shame because there are of course many good and great doctors in the world, but there are just TOO many doctors and people in the medical community that cannot come around to the fact that yes, a raw foods Medifast diet can cure the body of many ailments..

Sickening, but as the older generations of doctors disappear, the younger generations will push through, hopefully with a more open mind, and so on until we actually have doctors in this world who believe in natural cures, and hopefully, will no longer need 'alternative' doctors, because both sides will begin to believe the other. Fingers crossed...

This is such a great story- Thank you so much for sharing it! I'm constantly amazed by the raw miracles I read daily..

Modern medicine really does not want people to know the truth about what most affects our health (our diet). They make billions each year from insurance companies and citizens as people fall ill and require costly and extensive treatment. If people knew the simple cure (a raw diet), the medical industry would fall on it's face and the insurance execs would cease to make their million dollar salaries. I realize many Drs and nurses do believe in helping people and go into it with the right motivation (and are not nearly educated enough on nutrition), but I really believe that the top wealthy people in this country prefer a nation of ill, weak people who will keep the various industries going. I guess that is why so much unhealthy Medifast food is still being sold to the masses as "healthy". Its just so irresponsible and immoral to claim that Medifast diet has no bearing on overall health...

And you're right about that article. It is so funny how the media portrays "miracle" cures that the patient initiates by taking control of their own health, whether it be through Medifast diet or "alternative"medicine..

Her oncologist saw "no harm" in her daily practice. What about the harm he perpetuates by pumping his patients full of dangerous chemicals as part of HIS daily practice? And never questions if they are eating McD's 3x/day. THAT'S acceptable. But juicing is freaky at worst, and cute-if-misguided at best. Arrgghhhhhhh.....

I know it has it's place, but it has much less importance in our lives that they would have us believe. I'm so happy for you, your daughter, and her family. Incredible!!..
