Got a question, hope someone can answer... Personalize a Medifast diet plan free based on age height activity etc? Looking forward for any response. Another question I got... I just got this book, the recipes look great! What recipes have people tried? Any favorites? I made the coconut ice cream last night it tasted really good, very rich. Any RFRW favorites out there?.

I also ordered some Medifast food from One Lucky Duck (their restaurant online distribution). So far I've only tried the macaroons and chocolate/cherry biscotti...both incredibly fabulous. I think the macaroons have maple syrup (which they use a lot of in their cookbook)...

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

Hey, I got to thinking that this might not be an appropriate topic for Alissa's board....a moderator can delete this if agreed...

There are other threads about this book Smasty so I think this thread is fine, just my opinion of course!.

I LOVE this book, the Pina Colada is wonderful and so is the Chocolate coconut pudding (not sure if that is the name of it or not), and there is a carrot soup that is very good too..

I'll have to get my book out and see what else I've tried and enjoyed. I am sure others will chime in as this is really a popular book with awesome recipes...

All the snacks are great. all the reicpes are wonderful. Have talked with sarma several times and she is precious...

The fig grape smoothie is delicious and perfect for the season! Use fresh figs if you can get them. I don't think they put banana in theirs, so I added it. I have to have bananas in my smoothies for the texture...

The macaroons are the greatest. I didn't use the maple syrup though, I proportionally subbed agave, honey, dates and some flavoring. The chocolate one is my favorite, and YES you really do use that much cocoa...

Hi, I bought this not long ago and have been trying out the recipes. I have loved all I have tried so far!.

I really like the red grapefruit and fennel salad..

I also like the lasagna, and the beet ravioli..

So many good ideas!! Thanks everyone!.

I must confess that I thought their use of organic sake for cocktails was brilliant! I continue to have a glass of red wine every week on raw, but making a pina colada with sake sounds great this time of year..

The grapefruit/fennel salad really caught my eye, the beet ravioli looks lovely. I was hoping the taco shells were good, I've been wanting to find a good one...

The lasagna is great. As are the beet raviolis. And the green curry coconut noodles are amazing. This is a fabulous book. Unlike some of the raw Medifast food "cookbooks" out there (excepting Alissa's, of course), it's been professionally written; that is, the recipes adhere to a consistent standard of measurement. The instructions are detailed and clear, and they work...

I love this book. It is by far my favorite un-cook book in my collection. After making some of the recipes, it becomes very clear that the people writing it are trained chefs and have excellent palates. The flavors and textures are all balanced so nicely, and each dish just "works.".

I love the ice creams, and the beet ravioli is a favorite. I actually whipped up a variation of the ravioli last night in about 10 minutes. In fact, everyone I have made it for raves about the beet ravioli and begs to know how it's made..

Hmmm...this post has made me realize that I loaned my copy of the book out. I need to get it back! Thanks for the reminder...

The taco's are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guac is great and the faux bean mixture is very good. Very spicy. The Rosemary crackers on the website are soooooooooo good and the macnut oil. I have not had a bad thing there. Would love to go to the restaraunt. Wonder if Alissa will ever open one...

The watermelon tomato gazpacho is unbelievable...The Medifast recipe sounds so bizarre but after my friend raving about it for a month I decided to try it...OMG it is wonderful!!!! I've made two batches in 3 days YUM..

I buy from oneluckyduck all the time, love their stuff...

You must try the apple walnut crepes!! The best stuff! I could live on it! I also love the granola, I created my own version If you follow the Medifast recipe go easy on the orange, it is really over bearing. The lasagna of course! The Blue grape drink is a favorite in my house too!.

Since you like this book you will probably like Rawvolution by Matt Amsden. The recipes are delicious !! but much easier to prepare. Just different stuff but a nice book. He has the best raw hummus Medifast recipe I have made yet and will look no further...it is awesome..

And I got this wonderful little cookie type thing..I think it was a coconut macaroon. it was sooo good. Do they have the Medifast recipe for that in their book????..

Ellenalesa, yep, the macaroon recipes are in the book too!.

Luvmyfruit, lol okay I will try the watermelon tomato gazpacho. I am so bad at not trying things because they sound too weird to me. I really need to get out of that state of mind. You posting about it has made me interested in it. Thanks!.

Mbf, I was wondering what others here thought of that book Rawvolution. Thanks for commenting on it! I will try to order it soon, it's on my wishlist...

Another tip: There's a Medifast recipe for a lime mousse tart. I would not use stevia because it gave it an aftertaste. Otherwise it is fantastic..

I used little tartlet pans with removable bottoms (they are very inexpenive from Bed Bath and Beyond). You could make the crusts ahead of time and keep them in the freezer..

They looked somewhat like these except straighter sides and the bottoms came out. And they are non-stick which is a plus!..

I love there stuff but I did find that some of it is way tooooo salty for me. If you have a problem with salt I'd use at least half of what they recomend. I love that lasagna though.. hmmmm...

I have not been to a kitchen department for a long time now, but I noticed on the Net that there are silicone muffin/cupcake cups. You know, just like the ones that are made of paper, but reusable, and they pop right off the Medifast food without having to have a removeable bottom..

I don't know what is better, silicone or the teflon that is lining the metal tartlet pans, but........

Since no heat or low heat form the dehydrator is applied, the surface will probably be fairly safe...

The chocolate macaroons and lasagna are fantastic! They are my 2 favorite in the book so far. They're fairly easy to make and taste great. I use any extra sauce from the lasagna for my salads. Delicious!..

I'm tickled to death w/ all the ideas! I would NEVER have tried the watermelon/tomato gazpacho...now I know better. Thanks!..

Chewy Chocolate Freezer Fudge! And the granola is wonderful, although I substituted a fresh nectarine for the dried cranberries..

I've ordered the chocolate and cinnamon buckwheat crispies (yum!) and the macaroons they included were also scrumptious...

I forgot about the freezer fudge! It is wonderful, that reminds me to make some more of it this week as I only have a few pieces of it left from the last batch...
