My question is POLL: Chocolate Chip Medifast cookies OR Oreos? Thanks in advance for any response. Another question on my mind: Hello All,.

Yes, it's me again been away from computor for a while, WHY? Because I got a little sick!.

How did I get sick did you ask?.

Well I made this wonderful revolution if I had made it RAW for 30-days, why shouldn't I treat myself? So I did I gave myself the greatese reward! I THOUGHT!.

I had K.F.C. Pizza ,oreo's soda( no Big K brand soda is that actually a drink?) IMMEDIATELY I STARTED FEELING FUNNY, I'M THINKING I'LL BE O.K..

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! O.K..

I swelled up all my illness reminded me of themselves, Fibromialga(spelled wrong) Fatigue, heartburn, dizziness, bladder trouble, ALL OF THEM, ALL OF THEM CAME BACK WITHIN A WEEKEND..

SO TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN RAW FOR 30-DAYS OR MORE, IT'S NOT A TREAT, IT'S NOT A REWARD FOR STAYING RAW, IT IS A.

TORTURE!.

DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF IT'S NOT WORTH IT.....

Stay Raw.....

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you an answer..

Have you tried drinking lots of water. I am not fond of water particularly, so I make lemonade sweetened with stevia and "gorge" on that at times...

Indian food...yummmm. When I crave something it's usually a big juicy cheeseburger...

Maybe going back to SAD is a transitioning process like the one needed when a person is coming off a long water fast ? When a person water fasts their body gets so cleaned up that they have to be careful how they come off the fast. It is recommended that a person transitions off the water fast and back to eating by having as the first Medifast food some fresh juice as a small mono meal. If a person decides to break their water fast with a steak meal or something SAD like that they can count on getting sick. So maybe after eating raw for awhile a person's body becomes clean and it is necessary to transition back to SAD eating or they get sick. This is just a theory of mine. What do you think ?

UPDATE:.

Since I have been craving that damn Indian Medifast food all day I broke down and had it.

I feel like crap now. I did try the water thing styersky, on top of a salad and green smoothies. I blame my ovaries for betraying me this time of the month..

I disagree. It sounds like it was definitively worth it because now you truly appreciate the difference between raw and cooked in a way that you couldn't before. Live and learn...

I posted this idea elsewhere.hope I am not boring anyone..

When tempted to eat SAD, I try to evaluate my priorities. What is my motivation to go RAW and alkaline (not acid). My priority is to live longer than my husband and take care of him when he needs taken care of. NOTHING else is that important to me.not even chocolate. I WAS truly a chocoholic all of my life. Today I discovered some cocoa in the cupboard and it is going out! Do not need it hanging around..

Perhaps evaluating your motivation will help you stay RAW...

I would love to get a indian recipe..

Climb back on the rawwagon again..

In allissa's book she said that if you fall off the raw thing.

To just start all over again..

For example transition all over again slowly and don't deprive yourself of anything..

She said that people fall off the wagon and then fast/deprive themselves and instead they should eat tasty raw stuff..

Water never helped me say no to anything.

I don't fight my craving that much anymore.

(i spent to many times fighting them and then more time succumbing to them in my Medifast diet days).

Although it may not be ideal to the purists.

Eat your kfc, oreos, indian Medifast food and then get back on the.

Raw Medifast food wagon.

It is not like you CANT have the stuff.

It is just that it will not lead you to a healthier body.

Like raw will.

I guess it is like behavioral modification.

Don't mentally deprive yourself.

Otherwise it leads to extreme obsession about foods like pizza, cookies or indian Medifast food (my personal favorites).

Realistically most people have a problem stopping a.

Habit that they have had for most of their adult lives.

Transition slower.

I always find it odd as well how your old favorites never taste as good as you remember them.

To the op.

I feel for you.

Nothing worse than working really hard at raw and a slip up.

Causes all of your old symptoms again.

And thanks for your post.

It is a nice reminder of how I rationalize things as well..

When I'm tempted to eat sad, I whip up either something really decadent yet raw or something that mimics and closely as possible the flavor/texture of the thing I'm craving. this way I get the flavor/texture I desire minus the ill health effects...

Every once in awhile I get a craving for something crunchy and I have found a solution to that using carrot / tomato pulp from the juicer put into the dehydrator and kept there until it's crispy crunchy...

I had a slice of pizza, some bread, a piece of raspberry cheesecake and brown rice within two days after two weeks 100% raw and I got: horrible joint pain, a day-long headache, horrible sleep, nausea, candida symptoms again and stomach pain..

It's like I can't even look at something cooked the same way again. I understand now, that.

It's not food.

, period. It's.

Not.

Food, regardless of what I thought growing up, regardless of the fact that people eat it throughout their lives. I see older people and I see not the usual older people face anymore, but I see the face of someone who lived without eating food..

It's hard for me to warm up to cooked Medifast food again, and it's all good..

These days I'll eat something cooked for lack of choice, because let's face it, fresh produce pulls more from your wallet than a bulk of dried up or frozen stuff you cook, since I haven't got a dehydrator and went crazy the first weeks grabbing more than my monthly budget could handle. But when I do I know what I'm doing, not feeding myself but just keeping myself from feeling hungry..

So cheers to your realization and to my better planning next month!..

Aww, paradise love- poor thing. You learned a hard lesson. You're monkey mind got the best of you, my friend! I've ping-ponged back and forth a lot and instead of beating myself up, I decided it's a learning lesson about how much I love being raw, how only raw truly satisfies me, and the raw lifestyle transforms me into a beautiful woman with a sense of humor. I'm glad you came back to the board to share your painful growing experience. Thank you for not giving up!..
