Profile Highlights: MC Hammer

(Hat Tip: Hip Hop, RNB and Soul News)

Apparently it seems that the former legend MC Hammer has created a profile inside Orkut. I first doubted about whether or not this profile was legit, until I discovered that the Orkut founder himself is listed as one of his friends (not an easy thing to accomplish within Orkut).

MC Hammer's joining of Orkut may have more to do with him promoting his latest album than with linking up with fans.

(Hip Hop, RNB and Soul News) MC Hammer has embraced the internet in order to promote his new album Look3X. The former rap millionaire's catalog just sold for $2.7 million as part of a bankruptcy settlement, but he's not letting that stop him. HeÂ’s got pages set up at Myspace, Orkut and has his own blog. There's also this commercial too, but, like we discovered, it's soooo not for what you think.

For those in the Myspace world you can find his journal over here (and don't forget to read his blogger journal as well).

It's not uncommon for music stars to use social networks to promote their albums, although I wonder if they do it because its cheaper than advertising or because they really want to reach out to their fan base. Hmm...

Profile Highlights: Abhay Kumar

Abhay Kumar may look like a care free guy, but behind the photo is a man with a lot of wisdom to offer the world. A man serious about entrepreneurship Abhay's passion is not only to become one but helping out others along the way.

Aside from business, Abhay enjoys Yoga, creative writing, science fiction movies and cooking. Despite the fact that he enjoys writing, teaching and helping people, he does not seem to be much of a book worm.

Reading books are not my forte..But I can write..yes. .Trying to write few books but not getting time. ...though its a good forum to know about my book and there backgrounds

One thing that impressed me about Abhay was his willingness to help future entrepreneurs with their businesses by sending them a free copy of the Entrepreneur Matrix presentation. I've gone over part of the power point presentation, and would recommend it for not only those seeking to start their own businesses, but also to for those interested in investing in one as well.

Abhay seems like a cool guy to know, and if you are seeking friendship or business advice, his scrapbook is always available.

Update: Moved photo to the right.

Profile Highlights (Umesh Ghosh)

Here is an interesting profile I came across while snorkuting through the deep blue forums.

Umesh Ghosh (who was briefly mentioned previously) starts off his description in poetic fashion:

i'm a cool man, compromising, religious and truth speaking...

I can't feel what I am.
But believe to be
a devotee of mankind.
I am not the body
which is seen,
not even the mind inside me,

I am the soul, a part of god.
I am now a machine ran
by the uncontrolled mind
which only loves
wealth, fame and lust

The poem may be a bit melancholy for some, but you have to admit it does make you think. Umesh enjoys reading and writing poetry, books, sports and music ranging from The Beatles to U2 to Led Zeppelin.

What caught my eye about Umesh's was him mentioning that he has a "messianic complex" in which he explains as helping out the poor around him. That sounds very generous of Umesh (as we all need a helping hand in life sooner or later) and if anyone gets the chance to, stop by his scrapbook and say hello.

Note: Daily Profile will be replaced by Profile Highlights as it will be easier to document and update on this site.
