Profile Highlights (Umesh Ghosh)

Here is an interesting profile I came across while snorkuting through the deep blue forums.

Umesh Ghosh (who was briefly mentioned previously) starts off his description in poetic fashion:

i'm a cool man, compromising, religious and truth speaking...

I can't feel what I am.
But believe to be
a devotee of mankind.
I am not the body
which is seen,
not even the mind inside me,

I am the soul, a part of god.
I am now a machine ran
by the uncontrolled mind
which only loves
wealth, fame and lust

The poem may be a bit melancholy for some, but you have to admit it does make you think. Umesh enjoys reading and writing poetry, books, sports and music ranging from The Beatles to U2 to Led Zeppelin.

What caught my eye about Umesh's was him mentioning that he has a "messianic complex" in which he explains as helping out the poor around him. That sounds very generous of Umesh (as we all need a helping hand in life sooner or later) and if anyone gets the chance to, stop by his scrapbook and say hello.

Note: Daily Profile will be replaced by Profile Highlights as it will be easier to document and update on this site.

Daily Profile (Ujala Khan)

It's not every day you stumble upon an interesting person. I love her picture, but even more entertaining (in a good way) is here about me description. More from Ujala Khan:

My earliest memory is wearing tights in first grade and dancing as Santa's Little Helper in the school Christmas Play. Eversince then, I love Christmas and for people I love, I'm better than Santa's Little Helper.

I have the attention span of exactly three seconds, so you better make yourself heard before I ask you to make yourself scarce. I'm merciless in my decisions of company I choose to keep, so even though I am friendly with many people, I only have a handful of friends. I don't forgive and forget, so once you've crossed me over, you're scratched off my Good Book for good.

Sheesh! I hope I don't get on her bad side (although hopefully she is more forgiving as people often mistakes).

Anyways, Ujala seems to enjoy the show Friends, although she did mention X-Files (a personal favorite of mine until it went off air). She also likes various food items ranging from pizza to Manakeesh (what is it?) to "that Thai crab thing they have at Lemon Grass."

Ironically, Ujala (an Orkut lover) is from the UAE which recently blocked Orkut, something users within have confirmed, although that has not stopped them from chatting within the forums.

I would blab on, but then I would probably put everyone to sleep with her story on how she found her lover (very interesting).

If you enjoyed the story as much as I did, try visiting her scrapbook, or better yet, her weblog.

Daily Profile (AK)

Yeah, work was busy for me, but I was able to stumble upon a user who simply goes by the name of "AK."

Giving a lot of thought as to discover exactly what is there to write about me, i figured that im a person who is somewhat egoistic, hyper, witty, rude, restless, clumsy and im still trying to figure out what my good qualities might be ;) .

I wouldnt call my self an extremiest on any account coz i believe that im just an every day kinda girl and so there aint much special stuff to mention about me.

Though to conclude it all i would best describe my self as a book whose real story can only be found IF u go through it.

Speaking of books, AK reads a ton! With the exception of Pride and Prejudice, and Great Expectations I've never even heard of most of these books. Run to the moon sounds interesting, although I wonder if it deals with romance rather than space travel? (yeah, I'm a "trekky." So what.)

AK seems to be into a sport I love, table tennis (that is ping pong for "us ghetto folks") and also watching Everybody Loves Raymond, a show I hate to miss (as it has replaced Seinfeld in my life).

AK seems to get a lot a traffic via her scrapbook (over 3700 posts and counting!) and I don't think she would mind if everybody added one more scrap to the list.

Daily Profile (Robby Villegas)

Today's daily profile features Robby Villegas from the states who not only has a funny profile image but a description to go along with it.

I'm a creature of habit, though not wilfully so. Now and then I seek out, or just happen upon, something else, especially if it's a "Not Me" sort of thing: "Gee, I've never thought of myself as the type to do THAT". It cures silly inhibitions and opens the mind. Extending your self-image is good.

My free time is exactly that: free. Relaxed, not overly scheduled.

I like to be with people. But then I also like to get lost in myself, going deep under water, going almost non-verbal. And then come up for air, and then take a few more dives.
Deep focus is mind-cleansing.

Robby has what I call a "unique taste" of life, as his favorite movies range from Raiders of the Lost Ark to Little Big Man (never saw it) to An American Werewolf in London (never saw it, but I did enjoy the music video).

I'll forgive him for not mentioning Star Trek as one of his favorite shows, although he has listed Babylon 5 (another great space show).

Robby has some very interesting photos in his album (is that Dracula on ice?) and if you think those pictures are great, but sure to mention it on his scrapbook.

Daily Profile (Madhuri Agrawal)

Update: Added Photo.

(Note: Yeah, I know work can get in the way of blogging, but I am going to try to at least pick an interesting profile every day)

Today's daily profile is Madhuri Agrawal from India! Madhuri speaks Hindi and English and her two passions in life are books and travel. She does however have a very...umm..."conflicting" personality, something her "about me" section reveals:

It is difficult to sum up in a few lines about so many years of alternating between living and existing.

All I can say perhaps is that I am a vociferous reader even though there are times when I could not bear the sight of books, I love to see new places yet find it so difficult to take off on a journey,

I love friends yet I desire no more than quiet solitude in my best moments, I love to write yet never finish more than 100 lines in a row, I want to make a very successful career even though I hate the corporate world..

Well Madhuri, I can understand how you feel, especially with the "corporate world" thing, although there are great companies out there such as Google, Google and Google (the last one may be slightly violent--beware).

Madhuri also seems to have good taste in movies such as The Matrix, although I have yet to see Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind starring Jim Carrey.

Madhuri seems like an interesting girl, and if you think so feel free to let her know.

Daily Profile (Ghazal Aslam)

Today's daily profile features Ghazal Aslam (how do you pronounce that?) who is a native of the US of A. Ghazal perked my interest mainly because of a quote on her front page she uses to describes herself as:

Resting in the serene depths of infinite transitions...

Ghazal comes off to me as a "fine arts" type of person, mainly from the activities that she enjoys such as badminton, table tennis (a fancy way of saying ping pong) and board games. I wonder if that includes tic tac toe? ;)

Ghazal doesn't enjoy most music genre's, and recommends a movie entitled Children of Heaven a movie I have never heard of until now (is it good?).

Ghazal is the mother of a very cute kid so why don't you scrap her and let her know.

Daily Profile (Bojan Tunguz)

After surfing though several forums, I noticed Bojan's profile which had a humorous description.

I am a benevolent rascal. I love lounging in bed on a Sunday morning. Rainy days make me melancholy, but in a good kind of way. I am an incorrigible chocoholic. I hate Mondays. People often misunderestimate me. I read like a donkey. Everywhere I go I look for things. Once I find them I take them out of context.

Bojan seems to enjoy watching The O'Reilly Factor, Simpsons, as well as some cool movies ranging from The Passion of the Christ to Borne Supremacy. He loves to devour Japanese food, which I also enjoy as long as its cooked (no sushi for me!).

Bojan also has an Amazon wish list so if your wealthy or generous, don't be shy to send him a gift (or three).

Daily Profile (Linda Stephanie)

Today's daily profile features Linda from the Persian empire. Linda has a funny personality and enjoys a sport that I loathe, Tennis, mainly because I can never hit the ball between those white lines (I prefer ping pong). Here is a little about Linda:

I love having friends from all over the world so that’s why I’m here :c)

Also I love traveling I've been to many counties but still some are left undiscovered by me that I hope I can be able to see them all before God sends me an invitation to heaven or hell maybe! That of course would be the last undiscovered place to visit!!!! LOL

I'm cool and I have my own style of living something like still CRAZZZZZZZZZZZY!!!!!!! [...]

Something else:

Don't try to understand me, just like me ;c)

Linda also has played the Piano before, although she may be a bit "rusty now." This is probably far beyond anything I can do as I can only play "We are Siamese if you please."

I came across a great post by Linda over at the Valentine's day forum which I thought summed up the holiday very well.

"As food is needed for the body, them same way love is needed for the soul. Food strengthens the body while love strengths the soul. A person is incomplete without love."

Love the parable Linda! And if you loved her message as well, don't forget to mention it on her scrapbook. Cheers!

Daily Profile (Archana)

Today's daily profile features Archana from California!

Archana is a very talkative woman who speaks five languages ranging from English to Telegu to Gujarati (what's that?). She is also a beautiful young lady but she is already taken so if you had any thoughts, erase them. Otherwise her husband will beat you up. ;)

Archana blogs over at Archie the Great although she is running the sinister Yahoo ads. (boo!--just kidding).

Her favorite TV shows are Friends, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and one that I have not heard before entitled "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" She also enjoys Indian music, and may enjoy this one (and others) via Google Video.

In order to know her more, you "gotta be [her] friend," so why don't you stop by her scrapbook and say hello. ;)

Update: Silly me! Corrected article time from AM to PM.

Daily Profile (Erin Wisner)

Well, I know I promised I would post over here today, and I had several outlined as well (Denmark, Death threats, "da cartoon," etc.) but unfortunately you will have to wait until tomorrow to see "the horror" that unfolds within. ;)

Anyways, I have not forgotten today's daily profile, which happens to be Erin Wisner. :)

Erin seems to love food, Frank, and booty shakin'. She also seems passionate about suicide skiing, a sport I haven't tried yet, although I may be tempted to experiment if there is a snow boarding version. ;)

Erin is off limits as she is committed and according to Frank (her boyfriend?) she makes excellent tacos. I wonder if hers actually fill you up?

Note: Do you get it?

Daily Profile (Hashim Khan)

Today's daily profile features Hashim Khan who wanted me to join the Indian Women Issues forum. I think I'll wait until the forum reaches it's 100th member, then post about it here on this site. ;)

Anyways, here is a description of Hashim, which I found to be very amusing.

I have 2 passions, Guns and Surgery. Ironic, is it not? Guns kill people and Surgery heals them. But then again people have told me that I have a split personality. Sort of like Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

I can be a real wild bad boy when on a hunting trip and an absolute messiah in the Surgical OR. I love hunting but I love animals as well, infact I work for the WWF for the preservation of snow leopards in the north of Pakistan.

Hashim several languages ranging from German to Urdo and enjoys a game called Cricket, which I hear is fun but have no clue on how to play. Hashim wants to be a world class surgeon, and if any hospitals are looking for a future Pakistani doctor, you can contact Hashim by posting on his scrapbook.

Daily Profile (The Dude)

If you ever go surfing through Orkut on a daily basis, you will run into some interesting people. Some are freaks, and some are cool, but most generally are somewhere in the middle.

Here is an interesting guy who simply goes by The Dude!

The Dude has a following of well over 300 people and like this author is a "trekky." He also enjoys reading anything by Isaac Asimov and some of his favorite movies are Fight Club (never saw it) and The Fifth Element (over watched it).

He also thinks Halo 2 is a sport, but until all of us gamers can convince the medical society that gaming can improve your health, it may be simply listed as an obsessive fad. :(

If you dare, visit his scrapbook, or better yet his other scrapbook. Heh.
