Apparently in my wanderings throughout Orkut, I forgot to keep myself updated about what goes on in the Miss and Mr. Orkut competitions.
This months winner is Mausumi Das from India who enjoys talking, listening to music and watching movies. She also enjoys fashion designing and watching music competitions like American Idol, although I wonder if they have a similar version in India.
As far as sports goes, video games are pretty much it (they're a sport?) which I guess can improve a person's hand-to-eye coordination. If she enjoys games from "back in the day," she may want to consider joining Vintage Video Games and catch up on some Mario, Zelda or Metroman.
That is all I can say about Mausumi as there is little info on her profile. Perhaps we can find out more by visiting her scrapbook.

Orkut Face Of The Month (May)
It looks like May's Orkut Face of the Month is Mr-Dash! Congrats!
Mr-Dash is from Pakistan and does not mention many details in his profile. However he seems to be an avid book lover and enjoys adventurous movies, guns and car racing. I wonder what type of car he has?
Note: I wouldn't be surprised if he was into these forums.

Do Ladies Enjoy Chest Hair?
After the ladies received an answer to an age old question, it seems that Prasant had to ask this question in the Men Ask, WOMEN ANSWER forum. Ironically when I was younger, my friends asked this question to an older lady so I am not surprised by most of these responses.
- Eva: a chest hair? [...] i hate it, i mean a bit of hair there is ok, but not too much and i think back hair is even worst
- M.: Chest hair is a turn on for me.:) Of course in a reasonable amount.;) Yes... very manly and sexy...mmmm...
- Jaanika: as long as u dont count the ones on ur back to b chest hair... And as long as ur chest hair aint thicker than ur actual hair....
- Nazish: chest hair is a big tyme turn offfff....n so is the hair on the backk
- Jane: I definitely prefer no, or very little, hair on the chest
Fortunately for me, my chest isn't that hairy (at least for now). Unfortunately it seems that Saajid is out of luck in that department, and may have to shave his chest to appease his future love.
Do Guys Prefer Beauty, Or Women With Brains?
That is the question Pragati is asking over in the Women ask, MEN ANSWER forum (they have a counterpart one for guys which I'll post on later).
Pragati wants to know if guys really do prefer a beautiful face over a beautiful mind. Here are some of the responses by some very brave men:
- Raghu: beauty can be instantly admired/appreciated... but it takes a while to appreciate the brains of any person. hence the misconception that guys only appreciate beauty & not brains in a female. if u really dig a li'l deeper, u'll see that most most long-term female friends of guys r those with brains matching the guy's level... & not beauty...
- Chill: beauty n brain is rare and so i will say [...]
beautiful girl = dumb
unattractive girl = intelligent
beautiful + intelligent = Diva.. - Turtle: i dont prefer beauty to brains . id rather have a plain looking girl with a brain and a good heart than a total knockout thats stupid or a bitch . but i do draw the line at ugly there only room in any relatioship for one ugly person aand thats me
- Achal (page two): i guess its natures way of bringing together the best genes together to same person . beautiful woman + intelligent man = beautiful and intelligent kids? or progressive species
Although most of the answers were pretty much "beauty before brains" or "beauty with brains," Lulla (on page 3) seems to be motivated more by mental abilities than good looks. He even doesn't mind a girl with a few extra pounds.
As for me, I agree with Pulkit (on page 1)--beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Miss Orkut Has Arrived!
Awhile ago we mentioned that Yogesh had won the Mr. Orkut award for the month. Unfortunately no female victor was declared, leaving Yogesh to bask in the glory all by himself.
Today I'd like to announce that Khushi has been declared Miss Orkut for the month of April.
And it looks as if she has found "the one." Here is a little about her below:
We all want to fall in love. Why? Because that experience makes us feel completely alive. Where every sense is heightened, every emotion is magnified, our everyday reality is shattered and we are flying into the heavens.
It may only last a moment, an hour, an afternoon. But that doesn't diminich its value. Because we are left with memories that we treasure for the rest of our lives.
Khushi seems to be a Pakistani native who currently lives in France (if not, somebody correct me on this). She enjoys hanging out with friends, watching the show Friends, and painting
Khushi seems to be a frequent user of Orkut, with 10,000 scraps and counting (sheesh!). Perhaps we can add to that by dropping by and saying hello.

Congratulations Yogesh!
This month's winner of the Miss and Mr. Orkut competition is Yogesh Joshi!
Here is a short description of Yogesh on his about page:
I am a cheerful and a jolly person.I am quite humorous and i bet you can't hold your laugh when i am there.I am a dude in real sense and you will accept that when we meet!!
Congrats Yogesh! And if you feel robbed of the privilege of being on the front page, simply submit yourself within the forum.
Note: Apparently their was no female winner this month. If you are upset about this, take it up with the owner Rizwan (no scrap hating here).

And The Winner Is...

It looks like Jamal Anwer has won the Orkut Face of the Month for February. I like his new profile image better, although the guitar photo does look pretty cool.
Jamal speaks several languages, including Urdu (does everybody speak this but me?) and enjoys music, car racing, cricket and counterstrike (the best game ever although not recommended if you have a job).
Congrats Jamal, and if anyone is reading this, fill up his scrapbook with praise and be sure to check out his cool shades!

Orkut Prince And Princess Valentine Is...
The winners of the Orkut Valentines Prince and Princess are Faraz Ahmed and Loving Princess. Congratulations! The Loving Princess image is to the right and here is a little "something" I noticed on her profile.
- im Attractive
- im sweet
- im Cute
- im loving
- im Princess
- im Fantastic
- im Genious
She is also single but unless you want to travel to Pakistan you may not be able to win her heart.
Today's Prince is Faraz who has some really cool text art on his profile (everything from hearts to guitars to horses--you get the picture). He seems to be really popular as he posts:
WeLl It SeEmS LoTs Ov PeoPle CoPIed My ProFile, I gOt No PrObleM, EvEry1s InVitEd.
He also is in Pakistan (I wonder if they both will hook up?) and seems to lead an interesting life. Congrats to both of you! And to quote our founder, "Stay Beautiful."

Is Long Hair More Beautiful?
These ladies think so! In an age where short hair is the norm (that being shoulder length or less), these girls think having Rapunzel-like hair is a sign of beauty.
Although some are having doubts and are thinking about cutting their hair:
(Rafia) i used to have very long hair but it was difficult to manage them and i wanted a change so i got my hair cut in feathers but that wrecked my hair completely [...] so now ive grown my hair long again and its straight and equal this time but the prob is that i cant make many hair styles with my hair cause of its long length
either i can open them or make a pony tail and this gets very monotonous
so wat do u guys suggest should i get my hair cut again or not (sic)
Two guys say no, as well as several girls although Rafia's follow-up post is no where to be seen (did she cut her hair?).
Meanwhile, in another post Sweet Little announces that she enjoys her new hair cut and is leaving the forum.
Perhaps she should join this group.

The Fashion Scene In Pakistan
Never thought I would see this but it seems I am discovering the Middle East is just as diverse culturally as the west. Here is some brief info about the Pakistani Fashion World forum:
(Description) Whats the latest Fashion ?!? Where Pakistan is goin ?!? Do you think u're up to date in fashion ?!? Be a part of the latest Fashion, know about the latest outlets in Pakistan. Let us and everyone know about new places and ideas of Fashion. (sic)
Not sure if I'll join it, but it does present an interesting image about Pakistan.
Update: Heh! Model or not.
