Video Highlight: Centre Calls (By Yogesh)

(Note: The "Orkut Must Have Hacks" will be posted later on as Blogger was previously down for me earlier)

Yogesh (over in the Short Films forum) has uploaded a short flick on Google Video.

The title of the film is Centre Calls and details the tragedy of an Indian girl seeking freedom in her life. Here is a brief description of the video below.

A conservative, reserved girl joins the Call Centre to monetarily support her parents and studies. But when she gets exposed to the environment of the Call centre, gets the taste of freedom and easy money there happens a major change in her.

The story follows a simple plot and is roughly 19 minutes long. For those of you at work, this may not be the best place to view it as images of people drinking as well as doing drugs are fairly common throughout this film. You can watch the movie for yourself below, or simply visit this movie on Google Video.

The True Face Of Evil

Babrus, over in the Drawing forum is looking for suggestions on ways for him to improve his images. (which you can see here and here).

The first one, entitled "The True Face of Evil" is okay, although the second one (Sarah the young...) is better in my opinion.

Note: Unrelated, but if you want to check out some cool images online, Vision Afar is where it's at. This image reminds me of a Russian friend of mine.

My Brain Hurts

Not literally, but from trying to solve some of these games in the Puzzles forum. Here are a few, but these are probably not recommended for thinking impaired or those with a time crunch.

(Shehzad-where is one rupee) 3 friends went out to buy a book, they purchased the book for 30 rupees(10 rupees to each friend), when they left the shop the seller realized that the book price was 25. so he sent his servant to return 5 rupees to the friends as he knew them, servant kept 2 rupees with him, and returned 1 rupee to each of the 3 friends.

now each friend spent 9 rupees and servant has 2 rupees, which counts 29 rupees so where is the rupee.

Does anybody get this answer? I thought I was doing pretty good at being "Mr. Genius" until I ran into some other puzzles which made me look really silly.

This "Who is Taller??" puzzle (by Vivek) has me stumped while this "tennis puzzle" (by Manan) is way beyond me.

If their are any geniuses in the house who can explain the solution to any of these, let me know.

The Fashion Scene In Pakistan

Never thought I would see this but it seems I am discovering the Middle East is just as diverse culturally as the west. Here is some brief info about the Pakistani Fashion World forum:

(Description) Whats the latest Fashion ?!? Where Pakistan is goin ?!? Do you think u're up to date in fashion ?!? Be a part of the latest Fashion, know about the latest outlets in Pakistan. Let us and everyone know about new places and ideas of Fashion. (sic)

Not sure if I'll join it, but it does present an interesting image about Pakistan.

Update: Heh! Model or not.

Indian Writers Anyone?

Prem has started a new forum for Indian Amateur Writers.

(Description) For long I have been looking for community where the amateur and professional Indian writers can share information and learn from each other.

Anyone who is interested in writing, or dreams that some day you will be able to write can also join. You would not have written before, but who knows this might be the beginning...

Sounds pretty interesting. And it appears that several are already collaborating on a small story.

Learning German?

One great thing about Orkut is that it is filled with many great people who are more than willing to give you a helping hand, even if it is learning another language.

Hi,
I'm looking for a german native speaker to help me practicing *my* german. In return, I can help teaching brazilian portuguese. If anyone is interested, please leave me a scrap.

Danke sehr. [Gabi]

If anyone else is interested in learning a new language, the Languages of the World forum may be the place for you.
