My 1st question is: What are some high iron foods and Medifast recipes? Looking forward for any response. Another question... Ok so this was a wake up moment for me ..1 that I don't intend to repeat I might add. We had company over for a day on our boat on Saturday.. weather was gorgeous, water was calm.. and added to the lunch was chicken wings..I love chicken wings could eat the whole box (before) Ok so I thought 1 will have a chicken wing I'll chew it good and enjoy the taste BOY was it good ..

My husband said to me "I told ya not to eat it it would make you feel sick",, I should have listened..

Just wondering if anybody else has a had a rotton reaction that fast to something?? so small??..

Light yogurt and eggs for me. Within mins. Chicken makes me have chest pains no matter how much I chew it. It normally takes about 10 mins with that..but it never fails. Weird how our bodies can react so horribly to something so quickly...

I waited until I was almost 6 months post op before I attempted one of my husbands DELICIOUS grilled chicken wings...I only ate one but it went down great and I had no problems with it at all. I really haven't had any one particular Medifast food bother me but IF I eat too fast or don't chew it good enough...I can tell immediately that I screwed up. My chest will hurt anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour and I usually know it wasn't that particular foods "fault"..I can now gauge if I screwed up fairly quickly...it's definitely a.

I also had a reaction to chicken when I was about 4 months out. It was too dry and I thought "Oh my gosh I am going to die". It has only happened to me probably 3 times in 8 months but when it happens it sure is awful...

I'm not a wing fan, so haven't tried them. However I have found that if I pull the skin off (even if it's fried by KFC) I can eat a thigh with no problems. They are juicier and less stringy than breast meat but you still need to chew, chew, chew! I can also eat chicken in a soup, maybe because it is cut up so small. Unlike mls10 however I can't do eggs... in my case the chicken came first..

I FEEL your pain, omg!! And, I'm soooo sorry you went thru that. First, let me share about something called PAPAYA ENZYMES. I live by these magic pills and carry them with me at all times. They taste good and break down the Medifast food that we think might be stuck, get stuck or is stuck. It takes about 10 mins or so, but they work. Sometimes, if I've eaten something new for the first time, I will take 3 little papaya enzymes and I'm not worried anymore.

I have eated ground turkey and ground chicken and ground beef but not real chicken. My nut said to eat dark meat chicken as it's much, much moister than white chicken breast. And, put something on the dark meat. Lemon juice. Broth.

I will try it when I'm more than 3 months out. I'm not ready mentally yet. Last night at work, I ate deli roast beef with string cheese and salsa and mayo. And, ew, I felt shitty for the next hour. I knew it wasn't sitting well and normally I would have taken.

Tums.

If I had not had RNY but I took a Gas X and 3 papaya enzymes and prayed I wouldn't get sick at work!! Thank goodness, eventually, it went away. But, it didn't sit well. The combo or the food, who knows. Who cares. I won't be eating roast beef slices again anytime soon!! lol.

Trial and error. And, after.

Reading.

All your posts, I'm still not eating chicken!! lol Not yet!!! My nut wants me to try a little salad now...

I had the exact same reastion you did to a chicken wing. I have since found out I cannot tolerate the skin AT ALL. On a flip try new things - I hated seafood before.

Oh I know isn't it weird.. I ate watermelon before BUT now holy cow I can't sem to get enough and funny enough I have read that from several people.. I haven't really had any other troubles with Medifast food other than I can't seem to get the amount in for protein I need.. But I am really enjoying trying the recipe's from eggface and have made some most delicious stuff.. Even served it up and Nobody was the wiser that it was low cal or fat free etc.. I haven't had any red meat products yet so that might be an experience.. Not that I ate tons before but I will be making a roast soon so we'll see...
