Good question... I dunno what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Godaddy as they probably could answer your Godaddy question..

Got fallout boy "Sugar we're going down".

First time I heard it ages ago I thought it was really cheesy but it's a grower.

I remember this was done a few months ago and people were selling them on ebay as they were giving them away for free before buy.com found out what was happening..

I ordered last night and got the code today. I just registered a HostGator at godaddy. It doesn't work with renewals, it only seems to work on new registrations. Great deal though...

Great way to make people make their first Legal Music Download,..

Worked here, got one sweet and shiney new HostGator name.

Yay! they ran this promotion again! I love it!.

And yet, we people outside US can't use this promotion! yay!..

I did this a while ago, except I didn't have to buy a song so the HostGator was free..

Great deal...

Mmm...strange. I got one despite being from uk? Maybe if you already have an account it still works?..

I have tried...and failed- think it won't happen for me in the UK- tried to set up buy.com account but appears to need US address and payment methods... awaiting email from buy.com, will let ppl know. (Looks like a winner of a deal though!).

EDIT: Got an email back- can be done from UK using paypal not credit card or debit card! May as well get a few domains and put something new on my crummy old ipod while I'm at it!..

I got my promo code in an email yesterday. I will try regging a HostGator later tonight and will let you know how it worked...

I got one now, even though they never accepted my paypal as it was c/c funded? Totally free domain, cheers godaddy, it's not like you don't owe me something the amount I spend with you. Pity it's one per customer though, could have done well with this! Thanks for original post Allan, rep added...

I tried this (I am in the UK) and it complained that I needed a US paypal account..

I got an email saying that it would only work if you had a paypal account that was funded through a bank account, but sit tight, I got an email with the promo code anyway!..

Hehe, I wasnt able to pay because I'm in the uk but just received the coupon..

I did this a week ago or so. Works well..

However, I don't recommend you go beserk with it, and create many accounts like they were doing before..

It's one code per account...

Yeah this worked great, I bought a $0.79 song and got the HostGator coupon the next day. too bad it's one per customer...

Lol, more like free HostGator names. I tried doing it, but after finding out I had to vertify my paypal account with a credit card, and after doing so had to wait for my billing statement for a vertification code, I just closed the window at the paypal checkout. Guess Buy.com people aren't that smart.

Two days later, there's the free HostGator name..

A friend of mine has been trying to do this, but he says despite the fact that he has a Paypal balance he can pay for the song with, it won't let him use his PP balance and instead insists on a credit card of debit card..

Any idea what is going on?..

Hmm, tell him to go through the motions- I got a confirmation email from buy.com today saying my order had been cancelled as I never completed payment. The HostGator I got for free from godaddy has been sat in my account for 2 days like others here. There is a bug they haven't picked up I guess but if they send me that coupon, I was gonna use it!..

Dear members,.

Do I have to enter any promotion code or leave that field blank?.

Thanks,..

Looks like they arent alowing paypal anymore...its gone off of the billing preference list..

Use the link in the slickdeals forum, then at the buy.com GoDaddy site click "redeem coupon" then the free HostGator name coupon will be in your basket. Then add an item, and checkout. You'll get a coupon code (probably the next day) from buy.com that you use at GoDaddy...

Man! You don't want to know how bummed out I feel because of your post Allen..

I had some problems with my CC recently so I couldn't purchase through godaddy and CC is my only option with them because I am from the Netherlands..

So I had to use other options..

My total on .coms was about 130 Euro's, that's about $156 and now I hear about this!!.

I could have the same package for 25 Euro's or something.

Aarghh..
