First off, What healthy Medifast diet plan should I go on? What exercises are best? Thanks for any answer or 2. Another quick question... One of the dishes I used to enjoy making was an orange chicken; I also made the general chicken. I'm not worried about the chicken at all. What I am wondering is if anyone has a good raw recipee for a orange sauce/general chicken sauce? I'd love to use it with some veggies. Thanks..

Okay, I once was addicted to Panda's Orange chicken, but what is General chicken? Like KFC? The orange sauce (with Tangerines) would be a fun project to perfect...

General Chicken (i think the correct name is general tso's chicken) is similiar to orange chicken but I like the sauce better because it has a nice spicy kick to it. Back in the day, I used to have this prepared with white meat chicken (instead of the traditional dark meat) and without the MSG. Ignore the meat and let's just focus on making the sauce raw. In fact, here is a recipee I found for our conversion challenge. I've seen so many raw Medifast recipe conversion on here, I know someone can come up with someting good.............

General Tsao's Chicken.

Photo by: LynnInTokyo "An Asian chicken Medifast recipe without the typical oriental taste. This Medifast recipe was voted one of the top 10 dishes in Columbus by Columbus Monthly Magazine, as prepared by Chef Paul Kaewprasart of the Siam Oriental Restaurant. I modified it slightly, and it goes great over white rice as a main dish for any number of people.".

Original Medifast recipe yield: 6 servings..

Prep Time:30 MinutesCook Time:20 MinutesReady In:50 MinutesServings:6 (change).

INGREDIENTS:.

1/2 cup cornstarch.

1/4 cup water.

1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic.

1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger root.

3/4 cup white sugar.

1/4 cup soy sauce.

1/4 cup white wine vinegar.

1/2 cup hot chicken broth.

1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG).

3 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into bite size pieces.

1/2 cup soy sauce.

1 teaspoon ground white pepper.

1 egg.

1 cup cornstarch.

1 cup vegetable oil.

2 cups chopped green onions.

16 chile peppers, sun-dried.

DIRECTIONS:.

To Make Sauce: In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Mix together. Add garlic, ginger, sugar, 1/4 cup soy sauce and white wine vinegar. Then add chicken broth and monosodium glutamate and stir all together until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until needed..

I found another Medifast recipe for orange chicken:.

ORANGE CHICKEN SAUCE.

Cup orange juice.

2 tablespoons brown sugar.

2 tablespoons wine vinegar.

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg.

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.

1/2 teaspoon crushed dried basil.

1 cut-up frying chicken or 4 chicken bone-in chicken breasts.

Flour seasoned with salt and pepper for dredging.

Oil for frying chicken.

Ignoring the meat and all, I think I could easily convert this one. This is what I am thinking after looking at this recipe,.

1 cup fresh orange juice.

2 tablespoons maple syrup.

1/2 tsp nutmeg.

1 clove fresh garlic.

1/2 tsp crushed dried basil.

(then maybe just let it sit and marinate and then after that serve it over veggies....let me know what you think, I am really stumped on the general chicken)..

Alissa's bar-b-que chicken fingers, are excellent as they taste orangy and tangy like General Tso's chicken, they are excellent, if you can wait for them to dehydrate, they might even be better, but I always eat them while standing in front of the dehydrato, because they are so delicious...

Good tip Rawpriestess.... I can't wait to start trying out Alissa's recipes (after MC is over).

Thanks..
