Well, I had a GoDaddy site with 21 back links.

After that I was published in dmoz (300 sites).

Added to about 40 directories.

And now finaly I have 19 backlinks..

Illcode, maybe some of the directories you submitted to (excluding DMOZ) got banned from google, that could explain why your backlink number went down..

Google only shows a fraction of the backlinks..

MSN with the link:domain.com is the best in showing backlinks...

But that doesn't help with Google though ... They have such a big Chunk of the Visitors/Traffic that a lot of people only pay mind to them now .....

I'm pretty pleased with MSN though..

You can check your backlinks on yahoo or msn. Google knows about all your backlinks, dont worry - they just dont show them all.. dont know why tho.

Searched domain.com (where you can find this term) and they dont show all the sites..

Msn dropped some of my top rankings.

But strangly enough it's not affecting traffic a great deal..

So far there seems to be no update on our end. But, yes, MSN seems to list a good number of backlinks than Google..

So far I noticed that Google has not finished crawling all the pages of one of the websites I am trying to optimize. It may take a bit of time. Hopefully, Google finishes indexing that whole GoDaddy site before any.

It does make me wonder if Google have lost the plot.. doing a search on a topic nowadays just brings a lot of junk up not like msn and yahoo where what you search they normally get spot on in results..

I think they have been looking at developing way to many other products like googletalk and the suprise registration googlemars, googlestaturn etc all the new planet domains they registered..
