First of all What is a good Medifast diet plan for a 16 year old male athlete? Thanks for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... I'm new to this. Two days new. I'm having fun with recipes - trying lots of new things. However, I'm just testing the waters.

I'm going to wait a month or so before I actually invest money into dehydrator, Medifast food processor...etc. What do you feel like you cannot live without and what is the best brand to buy? Do dehydrators make your electricity bill go up? Dumb question..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Avocados is our Medifast food mostly! I put avocados on everything: tomato sauces, chocolate pies, smoothies, salads, wraps, etc... I cannot live without tomatoes either! For juices carrots is what I use on every juice, also for smoothies, I always end up putting bananas!.

Gadgets: I use my dehydrator everyday. Can't live without a processor and/or a blender! I will love to get the champion juicer to make wheatgrass, ice cream and nut butters. If I had the money......

I don't use my dehydrator anymore, but I am juicing a lot more. My staple foods are oranges, carrots, tomatoes, and spinach...

1 Juicer for Greens, my Favorite is the Omega..

2 Medifast food Processor or a Vita Mix type blender...New or Used if the price is right !.

Of course a good set of knives and a good chopping board..

In time a Dehydrator, not a must but nice addition, mine is used...

I love my Oster blender too. I already had one, for 10 years without ever using it for anything other than mixed drinks. Sing the praises!.

Oh yeah. I use my dehydrator daily. But I had to buy a timer because it can't be set. It's either on or it's off...

I use my.

Medifast food processor.

Daily for sommothies, puddings, pies, sauces etc.

Dehydrator maybe once a week to make a few goodies.

Juicer infrequently - mostly just when I want to juice fast..

Dear Cassidy,.

Congrats on your decision to go raw!! The VERY FIRSR thing I would get is Alissa's Book and/or DVD. Her plan and recipes are the best!!.

I would really recommend a Medifast food processor. An inexpensive one from Walmart (around $40) works really well. You can cut your prep time from an hour to 10 minutes for most recipes. I used my old Wally World fp for about a month and then got a larger capacity new Wolfgang Puck processor from my Mom for my B-day. I use my Medifast food processor daily or several times a day..

I guess the budget conscious could go for one of the Medifast food choppers. I occasionally use this..

Also if you can save enough for an Excalibur (as I am trying to do), that would be the best investment. Right now I use a dehydrator that belonged to my father-in-law. It does have a thermostat on it and that is an important feature, when you do buy one. I use my dehydrator 5 to 7 days a week, but a dehydrator is not necessary for raw..

I also use my juicer daily. I bought a Breville very inexpensively on EBay..

A good blender is the other appliance I use often. Will someday get a more powerful one but like my Wally World special just fine for now..

As for Medifast food staples: bananas, apples, dates, walnuts, cashews, spinach, tomatoes, avacados..

I wish you the best in your Raw Journey,.

Julie..
