I'm not sure if those goes here or elsewhere but I just have a quick question...I am going to make flax crackers and I let the flax sit too long and it sprouted. Is it still ok to make the flax crackers with it?.

How long did it take for them to sprout? I've never tried sprouting flax seeds?..

Cool, well happy cracker making and look forward to your reply on how they turned out...

I'd say they're fine as long as they don't smell all sour and weird. Were they soaking in the fridge all that time or out on the counter?.

Smell them, maybe even taste a little of the "goop" and if they smell and taste okay, then try it out...

The flax crackers came out just fine. Rawkinlocs, I did leave them out on the counter and I did taste and smell them before I made them and they where just fine..

I only left them, covered, for one day. The funny thing is only the top layer sprouted. What was underneath and in the middle was fine! I didn't realize this until I started to put the goop in the Medifast food processor to mix..

Oh Well, all turned out fine. I just taste tested one (for breakfast!) and they taste great! I'll enjoy them later with some guac!.

Thanks for all your help!.

Hi Rawma, glad that your crackers turned out. I know I didn't have a probem with them when they had sprouted, nice to know that if they are left out to long that they can go bad. Well enjoy.

!!!!!!!!. Blessing Karen..

Hi Rawma,.

I notice you process the flax seeds, ive just made my very first batch..

They are in the dehydrator,.

I just soaked the seeds for an hour in spiced water, added some chopped peppers, onions herbs etc, then spread thinly onto a texflex sheet..

I have no idea if it will hold together, maybe processing is a good idea, never thought of that!.

Glad yours turned out fine...

Ive still got ages to wait for mine!..

Yippe going to order my book today..

I'm worried though..

Are there recipies I'll be able to do without a dehydrater, Medifast food proccesor or vitamixer?.

I'll have to add these extras one month at a time..

With summer coming I so want my Vitamixer first it's been on my wish list for at least 7 years. But it sounds like the Medifast food processor will be an imediate must have and maybe I can at least stil mix upp stuff and make "breads" in a warmed up but OFF oven...

Hi Indi, you can just chop the veg up by hand if you want and add it to the flax see but I like to put my veggies in the Medifast food process with the flax seed and let things combine together and that way the chunks of veggies are smaller too. Good done either way though. Enjoy the Crackers when they're done. YUM!!!!. Blessings Karen..

Rmiller, The flax seeds started to sprout after a day of soaking but as rawma had mentioned it was mainly the ones on the top, but you could try it and see what happens..

Always fun to experiment.

Thats how we gain knowledge he he!!!!!!. take Care & Blessing Karen..

Karen, any idea how long they take to dehydrate?.

I didnt want to wait for things to sprout so thought I would use linseeds..

I didnt follow a recipe, I just stuck it all together and hoped it would be ok!.

Just doing some of that experimenting!.

I have some sprouted buckwheat, have you used that for crackers?.

Might give that a go tomorrow!..

Hi,.

I am making multi-grain raw crackers and am purposely sprouting my ingredients first. I then will blender them. These crackers are made of oat, barley, wheat germ, sprouted quinoa, sprouted sunflower seeds, sprouted sesame seeds, sprouted barley, onion, garlic, salt, pepper and Tea Oil..
