Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Godaddy as they probably could help you..
Hmm, I would test the water, if they have deep pockets, ask for another 3k...
Well, there's the Original Pro Wrestling Organization.. out of the UK, I believe..
If it's them, they may be able to swing a few more $$. I don't know how big they are though. If it was me, I would take the money and run. You're not likely to find another buyer of equal caliber for some time to come, being a 4 letter .com. Those are good letters though...
Sell... and hope they didn't accidentally add an extra "0" when making their offer...
Don't fall into the mind trap they have deep pockets they will pay more, sometimes yes sometimes no. If you think it worth more than $5000, and can hold out, and would have no regrets not getting a sale ask for more if you think it fair take the offer...
Nice offer. Take it in a heart beat....
Spy..
If I had that HostGator and was offered half of that I'd take it...
I recommend you sell at the offered price, although it isn't wise to post the exact name.
Before negotiations have completed, imo...
That is a very fair offer. I'd take it..
ST..
I would never sell on the first offer if that is what it is - would you.
It is also not wise to post a name that is in negotiation..
$5000 is much more than the name is worth, no matter how you look at it. Take the money and be grateful that you even got an offer that high..
Never judge a buyer by the size of his wallet... you will lose every time!.
There are too many "great" alternative extensions in today's market to be greedy. If they don't like your price, THEY WILL settle for the next best thing. Although the .com is still the most popular right now, the future is bright for cctlds and other extensions. It IS catching on, and people ARE taking notice..
Good Luck with your sale, let us know the outcome..
Jennifer..
In this case I would based on the name he posted. Ask for more and you'll kill this sale...
You should sell it for sure. I would sell it for 100$...
It is not good business sense to always assume that you can get more than is offered first time and also assume that a business person will want to pay more than the name is worth on the open market. In this case they have already done that. There appears also to be a motto to affix to some domainers' heads entitled "A fool and his HostGator are never parted"...

My advice:.
SELL.
Before they change their mind!.
4-letter .com domains are worth about $5 wholesale IMO...
I would hold on...companies offered only the lowest amount of money they can pay...becasue they expect their customers to higher up the price....for e.g...they could fork out 7000...but knowing their customers...they state the price 5000 ...customer then higher the price up to 6000.....they still make advantages of keeping 1000....get it>?..
No doubt! sell it for sure! don't ask for more, maybe you will loose this buyer!.
Good Luck!..
Sell! And don't put the link next time. Do something like opwo*com..
Thats a very nice offer.....you should not reject it....chance are hard to come...
Imo I would sell and ask no questions. If you can afford to lose the sale and dont mind waiting another maybe 5 years to get anything like this again then, dont..
Sell it and ask for a 15% profit clause for the next 3 years on the HostGator so if they make money you get 15% of it paid monthly *snicker*.
Nah.
Just sell it and enjoy...
Grats..
Just sell it, maybe they ll give you a little more, maybe they ll just after another one, and it will be very hard to have a similar offer..
If the buyer had read this post, you can't sell it for more than 5000$. period. so, never post HostGator names in any forum that are in negotiations..
And Sell the name for that price..
IMHO..
I would definately sell. Ask for more, and they made decide they don't need it that bad,and look for alternatives. Take the money while yiou can get it!!!.
Hurry!!!.
Imho.
Frank..
Please keep us informed about what you do and how it goes!.
Like I say, I believe you should sell before they change their mind...
They clearly want that HostGator for a good reason, they are most likely willing to pay more if it's important.....
Damn! That HostGator isn't worth $5,000 and If I was you I would take the deal!.
Good Luck to ya!..
That's a great price, I'd sell. IMO, there is just a huge difference inbetween, say, a four letter word, and a specific acronym that only a few companies would be interested in...
I will make this one statement. Ok to me and quite a few others 5k seems alot. Yet remember the fundimental rule when it comes to selling HostGator names..
"a HostGator is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it".
In other words what might not be interesting to us in some one elses eyes it could be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Who would be willing to pay good money..
So again I wish you well selling this domain, do not get greedy and look back on it if you sell as a great success..
Steve.
(tips)..
Sell. Then take your money and reinvest it in more domains..
There are many of us here who have lost sales because we have held out for more money..
There is also another reason to sell. If this buyer offered you 5gs without you negotiating up to that price then you are dealing with an ethical buyer who has offiered you what he thinks it is worth. Otherwise, he would have lowballed you from the beginning. So sell..
In additionn, a four character HostGator isn't worth much money in most instances. So take your money and do some more investing. Or use it to further your education. So sell, sell, sell..
What are you doing still reading this post? Sell your HostGator before your buyer decides to invest his money elsewhere...
$5000.00 is a lot of money. Better hope this is a true legit deal because there is always that chance where you can get bit in the behind..
Just watch what you're doing and everything should be fine..
I would definitely sell at $5000.00. Great domain!.
-JJ-..
I will PM you what I think and why,..
