That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably know..
Yeah, I've heard wheatgrass doesn't taste so good so I'd hate to ruin my morning smoothy..
I would also really like to add this to my diet, however, I have really struggled with finding some of the things that I need. I am wanting to start a garden this spring. I have to drive 45 minutes to a store that carries organic fruits and veggies...I am out in the sticks, small town TN. I am not quite sure where to look for wheatgreass, any suggestions?.
Jasmine..
Get some wheatberries and grow your own..
Also, if you do a search here, some folk have mentioned sites which specialize in wheatgrass growing..

Jazzy,.
I used to have flats delivered to my house when I did chemo years ago. I have also purchased flats at the HFS. It is so easy and inexpensive to grow so I don't buy it anymore. Organic soil, a black tray and hard winter wheat and a little time are all you need. I figure cost at about $1 flat...
????One doallar????.
I pay $20 from the HFS. I need to grow my own........
Wow, even $20. is cheap ! Whole foods in NJ is $40..

Try.
I got great service from them and everything came as they promised..
There is a kit you can buy, I think for about $30-$40 with several flats, organic soil, seeds, a book about wheatgrass, and instructions. It was very easy. I grewit and chewed it all through my pregnancy..
Come to think of it, I should order some more seeds and soil and start growing it again!..
You know those plastic dishpans you can buy at dollar store , there about 12" by 18" and 6" highfill them with about 2" inches of soil , sprinkle in mix in your wheat or any other seed then sprinkle on about or less a quarter inch dirt then water til good and dampthis is best way for me to sprout anything , it's alot more reliable for me than the water soaking methodplus I believe the sprouts this way are much more nutrient/mineral rich than from being grown in just plain waterplus these dish pans are easy to move around , get dark colored ones if can because they hide the dirt smudges youll get on them so they look better sitting in your utility room or where ever ...
Just a note for those who do not know you are not to actually swallow the grass (you do not have 4 stomachs like a cow). You are to juice or chew, chew, chew and then spit the "cud" out..
Have fun!..
Jazzy!!! OMG! I went to college in Cleveland at Lee U! Small world!.
Have you been to the 7th Day Adventist grocery store in Ooltelwah? They have a ton of health products and may know of local wheatgrass growers. I used to shop there when I was a vegetarian in college. It's a really neat store! I wish I knew more info but I bet if you called up the 7th Day church or looked in the phone book they could tell you...
