Question I have... Wordpress, godaddy, and webhost questions? Many thanks for any response. My other question... 2 offers in the past few months, 2 successful sales..

They aren't fast transactions - that's for sure, but sure enough, I got paid..

NOTE TO SELF:.

Change/delete WHOIS info BEFORE transferring domain!.

My last payment was held up waiting for the new /img/avatar3.jpg to change/update the WHOIS..

BTW: I was going to let both domains expire due to lack of time, and no interest here..

Luck and timing, and a bit of patience, like a lot of other stuff in life I guess....

Mike..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Godaddy as they probably know..

Yep, rw stands for Rwanda, and I thought of that angle.ag is more established though, so I think in the end it equalizes out to being worth about as much as .ag...I hope!..

Normally GoDaddy has you transfer the name to their HostGator account at a registrar and changes the whois themselves before releasing to the buyer. Maybe these were one of the smaller registrars where they don't maintain an account themselves? I haven't had a GoDaddy sale where I didn't push to their account in quite some time...

Did you guys get featured listings at sedo.

For any of your previous sales?.

Some of the names I see selling there, I have.

Never seen anywhere on the GoDaddy site before they.

Sold...just wondering how, of course a good HostGator first,.

Do you actually sell there..

I've gotten only 2 featured listings...the first was Poker.md after I got a $2,000 bid, hoping I would get higher bids. I wound up not getting any other bids when it was featured despite over 1000 views during that time, and wound up selling at $2,000 (March of last year). The 2nd time getting a featured listing is now with Poker.in, and thereagain, all of the best offers I've gotten were before I ever got a Featured listing. It's funny because you'd think they would help a name sell a lot, but it's not necessarily the case...

I've sold several names there in the past few mos. The transactions were both professional and as expedient as possible considering the blind bid / brokerage approach that GoDaddy takes. Hence, I've been quite pleased with their services...

All of my transactions have been sucessfull. So many lowball bids though.

I have 6 right now in low ball bid stage...

If you are two-for-two you need to raise your prices...

The best bid I ever got on GoDaddy was on a name without a price, $2,000 for SixDegrees.org, in early 2005. If I had tried to get more and lost that sale, I would not have been too thrilled!..

Congrats buddy, how long did it take....

For one HostGator I am already waiting a month for the buyer to pay sedo..

Wow,.

Great comments/feedback..

Both of my transactions took about 3.5 weeks start to finish..

The last one was transfered to an eNom reseller? SYBER?.

I'm kinda wondering what would have happened if the new owner REALLY TOOK HIS TIME changing the WHOIS, what would GoDaddy have done? they had his money, and "proof" from me (e-mails & confirmations) that the HostGator was successfully transfered etc., but they "stalled me" a little on the WHOIS update..

Now, of course, it's in their best interest (literally) to keep my money for as long as possible - i'm just wondering what might have happened had the new owner "refused" to update the WHOIS?.

Thanks for the stories and feedback.

Mike.

P.s. the HostGator > S E O T R A I N E R..

Yes. I have the same question too. Cant someone just recieve the name and never change whois? Thus, you would never recieve the money...

I will definitely ask BEFORE I sell another name on GoDaddy - if I ever get another chance..

Maybe it's in the TOS?.

I guess I could look there - but there's nothing like hearing from a LIVE GoDaddy rep. or someone here who knows.....

I've only had one GoDaddy featured listing they gave me comp when I did the beta for GoDaddy pro parking. It was maiden.name (my only .name), which they picked. It got a few hits, but no offers. Most other offers have come from either just plain listings or parking...

Almost forgot - sorry....

No promotion at all, just parked..

(no featured listings, nothing)..

Hey nice one buddy! Congrats..

I have quite a few domains parked at SeedHo and have had absolutely zero interest from anyone. Albeit they are not the best HostGator names lol...

Congrats. I seem to do okay at GoDaddy with small sales...have had 5 in the last 3 months there. It's the large ones that I WANT to sell but can't get solid bids on that I'm having trouble with. I just got a bid on Hotel.rw, but it was less than it cost for me to register it. I countered with 2000 Euro indicating that's what Hotel.ag recently sold for, but I'm guessing negotiations will close off. I cannot even begin to state how much I hate anonymous bidding. It's plain annoying when you can't directly negotiate with whoever is bidding on your name...

Nice going DomainLoot, especially if you were planning on letting the names drop too!.

Crooky: hotel.rw, rw stands for Rwanda?.

Should add more value with such a nice film with that name too!..

Congrats. Now if I can just get my GoDaddy sales to increase a bitI've struck out with GoDaddy completelyhad much more luck with Afternic...
